I believe their point was that people here on the right weren't complaining.

Well I can only speak for myself here and say I really don't pay attention to what's happening in America or anything to do with Trump, and people's obsession with both In my opinion is a little sad however I certainly wouldn't condone any white supremacy marches.

One of the leaders of this Mosque Hussain Halawa (father of Ibrahim) was reported by Norwegian media in 2011as advocating for the death penalty for homosexuals and this did not seem to bother Irish Liberals or the Irish media.

I wonder why stuff like this gets ignored are they afraid of upsetting Muslims incase they decide to blow up or squash some innocent children ? Is that where we are at now that we can't criticise these people for fear of a backlash?

And how come people who get annoyed about muslims who do that never complain about christians who have homophobic views.

We live on the same island as the DUP and you don't hear the far right bitching about them.

Something you may notice is that people who are on the left will generally be against anyone who is homophobic. That includes christians, muslims, hindu's. It includes russians, ugandans, the DUP, the american right etc.

However unless you are exclusively against muslims there are people on the right who think you're a hypocrite.

I'll tell you why it gets ignored, because it didn't bleeding happen. He called homosexuality "sinful". He did not call for the death penalty for homosexuals, he said they would be judged in the afterlife. So his position is almost identical to Catholocism's then: https://www.irishmirror.ie/news/irish-news/ibrahim-halawas-dad-blasts-homosexuality-11309046

You didn't answer my question, I'm not exclusively against Muslims or anything like that. I'm certainly against homophobia and id speak out against anyone who was homophobic. I suppose I am what you would call right wing e but I supported repealing the 8th and gay marriage, You use the term far right, what posters here would you describe as being far right?

    not quite.

"The Secretary General of the Fatwa Council, Sheikh Hussein Halawa, agreed to meet Rasmussen on Tuesday and told her she was suffering from an illness and that it may take several years before the Fatwa Council will conclude on the death penalty"

    The original Norwegian article.

That doesn't say it. Admittedly it's hard to read through google translate but the gist seems to be that they sent him a question about it but he said he never received it. And he said it takes time to get an official response.

It's incredibly hard to read that.

Are you complaining that the Irish media didn't report on an article written in norwegian that doesn't include a muslim saying gays should killed?

You should check up the facts about Pakistani grooming gangs and stop trying to divert I can find mention of only one EDL member convicted vs the hundreds of Muslim men convicted of child grooming you should read up on the Quilliam report into it

Here are a whole lot more convicted for you:

OK, here you go... a quick list of some pedophiles in the English Defense League that Tommy Robinson founded:

    1. Richard Price, co-founder

    2. Leigh McMillan

    7. James Andrew Swindlehurst

    8. Kristopher Allan, SDL

    16. Kane Hutchison

And that's before getting into the likes of Trevor Vinson, Alan Ellis, Dale Hewitt, Luke Atkinson, Bradley Alford, Michael McQueenie, and on and on it goes.

The EDL are riddled with pedophiles, from the rank and file all the way up to the very top, and have been since the day they were co-founded by one.

So why is it that Tommy Robinson and his supporters, both here and in general, don't seem to care one bit about the very clear pedophilia problem amongst their own peers?
The Tommy supporters in this thread have been pretty eager to ignore this, so perhaps you could lend some insight into why you don't care about these people abusing children, or about Tommy doing nothing to investigate it despite the fact he would have a lot more knowledge of the group, it's members, and how it works than almost anyone?

Not at all. I was just saying that's what the article said. I wasn't aware of any of it to be honest. Just had a cursory google and used translate.

    Quick question.

Has anyone here given Stephen money?
Sent him a card when he was falsely imprisoned.

You realise that your views closely align with Breivik's who gunned down a load of teenagers because of their political views? You consistently demonstrate that you're incredibly hateful.

No I didn't realise that, can you explain how my views closely align with those of Anders Breivik?

There's a lot of hate in the thread and most of it is aimed at Tommy Robinson and right wing people.

Anders Breivik's manifesto spent its time being outraged about Muslims, viewed multi culturalism to be the downfall of the west. Spent its time on outraged tangents about leftists and praised the likes of Geert Wilders who I'm guessing you also admire cause his views aren't dissimilar to Robinson's. Also a big fan of Marine LaPen? Those you are supporting are very much so extremists.

That's pretty much how Victor Orban sees things and he is the legitimate leader of a modern European country.

Orban is viewed as incredibly dodgy and has gone on the offensive against all ngos. Pushed conspiracies about George Soros and literally destroyed freedom of association. They're also in contravention of both European and international laws. So not that dissimilar to somebody claiming Hitler was only legitimate leader. The statement doesn't even make particular particular sense. Are you prevented from voting? Ireland for example ranks higher on all freedom and democracy indexes than Hungary.

The West is made up of many different cultures that's what's good about it, look at Europe for example it must be one of the most culturally diverse areas on the planet. It's a beautiful place because of that. I'm not against multi culturism at all.
All people from different cultures should be able to live together and respect each others cultures. Ive nothing against the average Muslim on the street I think their religion is no good and it seems to be Inspiring an increasing number of lunatics across Europe to kill people in the name of it. That's a big problem.

It's a problem I would prefer Ireland avoids, I would not like to see Muslims make up a sizeable chunk of our population because I believe we would inherit problems seen elsewhere in Europe.

We are leaving religion behind in this country, the last think we should be looking for is more Religious fanatics.

These are just my views, most of you wont agree and thats fine but there is no hate here.

Hungary isn't a modern European country, it's far from it. It's not even a proper democracy. It's a "Illiberal democracy".

Unfortunately roughly 10% of the population have left, so it looks set to maintain it's autocratic governance for a while longer.

They are about to get a slap though, which make shake some sense into them.

What sense, that they take 2 million migrants and shoehorn them into small villages like Germany.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,453 ✭✭✭rgossip30

I wouldn't say that at all. It was fascinating to see the journalist collude with someone and not do any rudimentary checks on the legitimacy of a text message.

The fact that they offered to cut an audio clip to take it out of context to suit their agenda is damning.

The use of slurs by the very people who were willing to destroy a man for using similar slurs in what was intended as a private conversation was eye opening.

Granted, it wasn't a home run but it was certainly enough to raise doubt in the legitimacy of BBC reporting and their methods of gathering facts.

I suppose if you don't find any of the above interesting, I don't know what you were expecting.

It may not have been earth-shattering but it certainly wasn't nothing.

The EU are moving to penalize them financially.

Hungary are a net recipient of EU funding.

Yeah that's just nonsense though isn't it?

That said Hungary could badly do with some inward migration.

So multiculturalism is "beautiful" but you would exclude one "culture" based on Religion.

Now where have I heard that before?

Gas how Orban never has a good thing to say about the EU, despite taking so much money off them.

He's like an angsty teenager that gives his parents **** all the time.
