How about leaving the disabled toilets alone and give all the new gender neutral signs. To the people saying "sure I have gender neutrals toilets in my house, I don't see a problem with this" Too hang on their front door.

I have a sign on my bathroom door, a little stick man taking a whizz in a circle with a line going through it, I think it means no man peeing or no man peeing standing up. I just took it to mean no men can use this toilet. I picked it up in lidl years ago in a pack with a no smoking sign so figure I'd find a use for it. As it happens there's no men peeing in my house which is how I likes it.

The men are probably happy too!

    I hope so

31 pages about sticking a new sign on the disabled jacks that was used by both men and women anyway.

Come back to me when there are urinals in the Ladies, and there might be actually something to get worked up about

I don't understand why they can't just put "Toilet" on the door and be done with it.

If the purpose was to solve an actual practical issue, that is what they would be doing.

Ive often thought the term "homophobic" was over used but this thread makes pretty grim reading. I'd certainly hate to be a gay person reading some comments. We've had pedophiles, rapists & mental health issues to mention but a few.

If I were a gay person I'd be thinking you think all these things about me & yet we've never even met! It's no wonder so many are afraid to come out as gay

If the ladies don't mind the brown Apocalypse coming out of my arse after a night on the Guinness followed by a Vindaloo.

What percentage of the people in this thread have said gay people were peadophiles, rapists and mentally ill?
I think you’re lumping gay in with trans btw...

In the states they had separate toilets for blacks and whites. I don't see the problem with gender neutral toilets.

Possibly doing away with the men and women toilets idea might be a better way forward. What's wrong with unisex toilets. I'd be in favour of doing away with urinals all together. Most of it ends up on the floor anyway

You are obviously a woman. Urinals are the answer to efficient toilet visits for men. But ye women aren't interested in that.

For the record I am fine with gender neutral bathrooms as long as there are still gendered ones in public places. It just makes more practical sense for the two main genders as they treat bathroom visits very differently. Even at home with a wife and two daughters and one bathroom I have to schedule visits well in advance. Whereas sharing a house with 5 other men this was never an issue.

Also what the hell do women do with toilet paper????

I welcome F2M trans people into the male bathroom as long as their bathroom habits match the gender they identify as.

I have no issue with it but I actually don't understand if you are trans why you need a special bathroom. Surely the point is to use the bathroom of the gender you identify as?

Ughh you're one of those. Just like the transphobes and homophobes but you just hate men.

    yes..thats what I am.

Actually it was borne as a joke between myself and a male friend who used my home from home. I think his day wasn't complete unless he had arrived at my house and had his daily giant dump. I just got tired of cleaning up after him to be honest and it's not like he was my partner or I had any obligatons to him but as he lived at home with his parents in his thirties, perhaps he just didn't understand the need for personal space in the way myself and my daughter did.

As it happened I lived with just my daughter so our bathroom was precious, and full of nice fragrant toilet paper.

No I'm a plumber. Male plumber.

I've had the privilege of working on urinals in pubs over the years. Many people blame the urinals for leaking but it's usually men not being able to aim.

In my opinion about 3/4 of men should be sitting down as they get most of it on the floor when standing. Most pubs have to mop under the urinals every 30 minutes or so

I've seen plenty of leaking urinals - it's pretty obvious as one will have piss everywhere underneath it and water dribbling out of it and the others not. But yeah I see it must be a pain for a plumber if guys are pissing all over the floor. I guess it beats a clogged toilet though?

Where do you stand on the metal sheet style as opposed to separate urinals? That's much harder to miss.

One thing I don't understand is men pissing all over a toilet seat. Only a ****ing animal does that.

I've heard that circumcised men can't aim as they have no top to their hose so to speak. But I wouldn't know. I can generally keep it in a 10cm diameter.

    Fair enough.

That guy sounds... weird to say the least.

They are much better but look at the guys shoes walking away. They will all be wet. Use them when you are wearing shorts and you'll feel splashes on your legs. The same thing happens when wearing pants/jeans. It's not the most hygienic thing in the world.

A pub is probably not the best place to gauge men's ability to aim ... more suitable to gauge the the effect of alcool on aiming skills ;-)

Saying urinals in general are a bad idea because drunk people make a mess with them would be a bit like saying cars are a bad idea because drunk driving causes accidents.

He had a slight physical disability so I imagine it contributed to his inability to aim very well. He was actually a nice guy. I ended up ripping out that bathroom after he got his own place and peace has been restored.

I'd be curious to know how the ladies and gents compare otherwise

Thats what I am saying. I too have no issue with gender neutral toilets as they are proposed as the privacy of all genders (male , female , trans etc etc etc) is being preserved. It is when our privacy (changing , showering OPEN COMMUNALLY) is being threatened that I personally , and I am sure I am not alone , would take major issue. There is no need for discussion on it. The proof is as you state in Toronto. Link article below :-
    https://www.thestar.com/news/crime/2015/10/05/university-of-toronto-alters-bathroom-policy-after-two-reports-of-voyeurism.html

I am sure there are dozens of these examples.

Anyone who signals favor for full access of formally single sex designated areas which is communal is also in favor of endangering THE female population at large and should have a spot light shun at them instantly for public disgrace.

UCC's swimming pool changing area has been unisex for years. Go into cubicle and change. No issues. Shared showering areas. Still no issues. France has always had unisex bathroom areas. Eg Euro Disney even has them. You're easily horrified.

It's a load of cack, definitely PC gone over the top. The usual college authorities pampering to the few over the majority.

When I sit down to squeeze out a deuce I don't want any kind of audience, male, female or transgender.

Imagine the dirty looks I'd get with all the sound effects that come with me dropping the kids off at the pool.

Good news, then! Since it's apparently only being applied single toilets you've feck all to complain about! :)

Was in the Lighthouse cinema last night and while using their unisex toilet a total babe was walking in at the same time. She went into the cubicle beside me and I was totally self conscious I was, as I didn't want her to be hearing the sounds of my pee pee. So I weed away from the water. Well, the exquisite Goddess next door didn't have any such hang ups and began farting and a spluttering away. Followed by making huge plonking sounds, as if she was dropping slime covered meatballs into the toilet bowl from on high. Maybe she was. I'd have peered over but I quite like the Lighthouse and didn't want to get barred, again. Been in relationships for years and I never heard such wickedness.

Down with gender neutral toilets I say. Horrible things.

It's not as if it's an open room with a single toilet plonked out in the open.

Do you think it's got glass doors or something?

I have not, nor will never use a unisex toilet.

I've no issue with Gender fluidity but the spokesperson for UCD admin talking about this on the news was very obviously a trans woman. Why does it always seem to be trans women driving this agenda?
Why do these same transwomen all seem to attempt to dress and wear make up like stereotypes of women from days past? I know loads of women who dont wear make up and live in trackies and trainers yet I've never seen a transwoman look like this.
Why are we on the verge of allowing our children to access life changing drugs and surgery when many adult gay men and women speak of childhood periods of gender confusion that were ultimately resolved through acknowledgement of their sexuality rather than messing around with their biological sex.

an lgbt spokesperson will be here to answer all your questions shortly. (probably won't though and I can understand why)
