    Not Kerry, Tipperary. He’s not a religious nut job either, quite the opposite in fact. He’s a nut job who was trying to operate a school outside of the current system.
    The school he was principal of was to close because the nearest big towns have 5 big secondary schools
    So he decided to do a solo run and on hugely reduced funding, stay open.
    In order to make it attractive to rich parents who were going to be making “whopping” donations to the school ( you should have seen the almost weekly begging letters) he personally vetted every potential pupil in order to exclude any “riff raff”.
    Dreadful character altogether. I think he’s retired now and handed over to his son.

    When it comes to whacky "This could only happen in America" stories, Brexit Britain is the new United States. And looking at their politicians and media the headlines are only going to get more cringe-inducing.

    In a world where journalists are desperate to get attention amid so many competing media, these sort of dysfunctional stories are going to increasingly be the new norm distorting rather than reflecting reality. It's a very definite race to the bottom from here on.
