You'd think Biffy Clyro could at least afford t shirts

Hard to be cynical watching Niley there earlier.

He was having a great time, doing his thing and playing some of his many, many, hits.

I couldn't even snigger when one of his band started reading out all the awards he has won

Good on you Nile, hope you get back playing to live audiences soon.

Mad that it has taken 20 years for this to be broadcast in full

In 2000 the BBC were only allowed to show "the first four songs of the set and then a song or two from the encore, but no more." Although they didn't explain that on air and it looked like they pulled the plug to show a filler video instead

Ah yeah, envious - that's the word!

The Director seems to have better shots of the stage and musicians than you would get in recent years - not as many images of the bloody flags obstructing the view.

Or maybe there were fewer flags back then.

2000 was the infamous year of the gatecrashers - it was estimated thousands jumped the fence.

Oh c'mon, admit it - although you bought a ticket, you then jumped the fence for fun (/from FoMO) :pac:

As an aside - and it seems kerrazy to say it now - but back then, Glastonbury wouldn’t sell out, especially if the line-up wasn’t that great (In 2000, aside from Bowie, the headline acts were Pet Shop Boys and Travis). Even when the acts were announced, it was viewed as JUST ANOTHER FESTIVAL a la Leeds/Reading.

Nowadays, we’re so used to it selling out immediately before the line-up is even announced. Back then, me and my university friends just walked into HMV in Chester and got our tickets - plenty available, not a bother.

Refreshing to watch a gig where it doesn’t cut to the crowd every couple of minutes.

This really is an excellent set - his performance and the band and perfect.

Bowie was brilliant. Never saw that set before. Epic. "I'm afraid of Americans"... Gail Ann Dorsey phenomenal.

Jeez, apart from a certain Mr Davy Jones - whose set we are saving up for later - that "Best of Glastonbury 2000" was pretty shyte :( Poor picture, poor sound, but most of all, poor acts...

Sooo pleased I got to see him in the Point on A Reality Tour

Fingal County Council are certainly not competent to be making decisions about the most important piece of infrastructure on the island. They need to stick to badly designed cycle lanes and deciding on whether Mrs Murphy can have her kitchen extension.

I think I'm forever destined to respect Bowie as an artist as opposed to enjoying his musical output to the extent that others do.

I was at Reading 2000 as opposed to Glastonbury. I could have gone to that Reality Tour show at the Point with my girlfriend at the time but I didn't bother. Was at the Oxegen that he had to pull our of late in the day too.

Can't say I'm too bothered about any of that.

In saying that, if I ever was to see him, a festival headline slot like Glastonbury probably would have been the ideal opportunity.

Almost 2 hour set in a long black coat, barely breaking a sweat. A master!

Best gig I've ever been at. Sounded better than Glastonbury too. Band were tighter, his voice was much better and the production was better.
