    Im sure your judge was talking about the top end of garda management and not on the ground bodies who work tirelessly to ensure you can sleep safe in your bed, all the while being under staffed, under equipped, under supported and under funded!

    Frontline Gardai and nurses in this country should be on double their current wages! They do an exemplary job in 99.9% of cases.

    And Gardai should be able to retire after 15 years service, not 30 years as at present.:rolleyes:

    You do realise current average industrial wage is even less, without the security and holidays?

    The current average industry job doesnt involve putting your life on the line every day you head to work, dealing with the absolute lowest form of life on the planet, attending murders, suicides, road traffic collisions, informing family members of siblings, parents, childrens, deaths, Being spat at, scrutinized, recorded, abused, assaulted.

    Your right tho - should be 3 times the average!

    It’s mad the way they keep the job spec, and what you’ll be dealing with as a secret until you leave Templemore. Shocking that you can’t look up what a Garda makes before you join too.
