It’s a bit of a left field leak for sure. It probably benefits Jjanties (as he’s had a shaky year in super rugby and foreign interest will spook the Boks) and Ulster (to get Carbery/whoever to decide already and get the IRFU as the baddies again) to have this rumor out there.

Funny thing is that this leak could be a bit of marketing in itself. It’s a positive Ulster story to be linked with big names and it makes the IRFU/Nucifora look the evil ones which is always attractive to certain Ulster fans.
Agreed, definitely think there is more angles going on here.

Ulster Rugby know that the only thing that Ulster fans dislike more than the Ulster hierarchy right now is the IRFU.

On another note, I hear the McFarland leak, which is causing the problems with the SRU, actually came from D4.

If the leak came from D4, does that mean they were the ones out putting the work in to get Ulster's next coach locked down? Good to see confirmation they have their best interests at heart, as we all knew.

Same apparently with KK at Connacht.

Hasn't it explicitly been explained in interviews that both Ulster and D4 have worked on this together? And if they did leak it, then that's pretty sh!tty, notwithstanding passive-aggressive remarks like this.

Well, Bryn Cunningham telling everyone on live TV that they'd signed a coach who'd have to serve a notice period might have had something to do with it.

Yes. That sure do narrow it down.

Did he actually say that? Or did he say that there were details still to be worked out before they could announce?

And presumably the multiple leaks about Joey Carbery come from D4?

He said there were details to work out, which implied it was someone under contract.

Which narrowed it down to almost every coach in world rugby.

Eh...nacewa for one more year but at Ulster (10% of games)?

This would be an excellent option IMO, ideal mentor figure

Look lads we all know it's actually Sexton on the way...

    We have the budget.
He's not adverse to leaving Leinster.
Having him playing with a weaker pack benefits Ireland.
    Good mentor for McPhillips.

Gives Carberry a better chance of familiarizing himself at fly half at Leinster where it's more of an armchair ride.

Job done, where can I write up some contracts

I wouldn't be happy about it but I'd be fascinated to see how it'd work out for both Leinster and Ulster!

well you'd have a qf team and a sf team with more exposure/responsibility for young leinster players instead of a group stage exist team and a tournament champions team. I'd still prefer the latter.

Don't want him. He's no Paddy Jackson.

So the following Ulster players made the cut for the U20s.

Tom O'Toole - Tight Head Prop
    Matthew Dalton - Second Row
    Aaron Hall - Flanker
    Matthew Agnew - Flanker
    Joe Dunleavy - Flanker/No.8
    Jonny Stewart - Scrum Half
    James Hume - Centre

    Angus Curtis is injured.

Good to see a healthier representation than in previous years. You'd probably have to go back to the Jackson/Marshall/Henderson/Gilroy year since we were as well represented.

And some quality there too. O'Toole and Dalton have huge potential and I really liked what I saw from Agnew. Happy trails coming me boyos
