Swedish Finance minister to asylum seekers: Don't come to Sweden

Swedish finance minister Magdalena Andersson in an interview has said that she regrets her government's decision to let more than 160,000 refugees into Sweden in 2015, and she said integration is not working.

Integration is not working properly. It didn't work before the autumn of 2015 either, but for me it is obvious that we cannot have a larger asylum reception than we are able to integrate. That is not good for the people who come here and it is not good for society at large either."

Thats a bit worrying for the future isn't it. Maybe integration can work in other countries? Germany's taken in an awful lot of them.

    Okay,

Whats your opinion on the topic the OP raised?

That 160k people is a ****load to take in and the time may now be right for Sweden to have a sensible adult discussion about further immigration.

Something that has been tried on this forum many times but is usually hijacked and end up as a thread about Islam.

wrong, 160k people is not a lot to take in
do you know how many empty apartments there are in sweden, literally thousands, tens of thousands,
and sweden doesnt have homeless people

It is if it's 160k that don't integrate into Swedish society, and don't take on Swedish norms,

Are the asylum seekers paying for them?

Where did you hear this? They're homeless; they're just given a different name. Imagine you call youth homelessness a child protection problem? The Irish political left would go mad. But in Sweden, youth homelessness is considered a child protection problem on paper. So technically, there are no homeless youth. Crazy what a bit of word play can do, isn't it?

The topic the OP raised was being discussed, even in the post about the events in the Philippines, though rather through implicature than directly addressed, the opinion and arguments are very clear.

If you're not selling drugs and illegally selling alcohol to minors, you should be fine. The police force in Malmö is very good so there should be no reason to call Malmö a dangerous city. ... In conclusion I would say Malmö is a pretty safe town but it's what you do that makes it safe or not.

The problem is not the immigrants and asylum seekers but the Swedish "Socialists" that have allowed immigrants and asylum seekers into the country.

They take them into the country, but they throw the asylum seekers out into the middle of nowhere into ghettos, throw them a few kroner and think that that is their job done. Which it is not. It is half the job done.

But hey! It gives these Middle-Class "Socialists" a warm fuzzy feeling to have taken people in. But **** you if you want us to do any more for you.

The only way to ensure true integration is to embed immigrant families into middle-class communities. Have them attending the same schools as Middle-Class Kids and attending the same events as Middle-Class kids. And, crucially, live beside Middle-Class families in their leafy suburbs.

So in essence, the Swedes are no better than the French who throw the immigrants into Les Banlieus and leave them there to rot.

Typical of the Middle-Class, hypocritical, "Socialists" that they are.

Swedenstan is already lost. Their "Feminist" Govt is already wearing hijabs. If they genuinely want to save Sweden then the time for talking about the problem is long past. Now its a time for action.

Send in the military and take back those 60+ No Go Zones. Cut off the welfare to them immediately and ban the building of any more mosques.

The problem is that these virtue signaling twits don't expect them to assimilate and adapt to our cultures. The Govts should be saying in no uncertain terms "These are our laws, our customs and our values" You adapt to us. Not the other way around. If any of our culture offends you then by all means feel free to leave and go to a Country more to your liking."

How can you be expected to adapt and integrate if you come from Jalalabad, Herat or Homs and are thrown into **** accommodation miles from anywhere with no knowledge of the language and where you are surrounded by nothing but your fellow Afghans, Iraqis or Syrians?

No, if the Swedish "Socialists" were really serious about integration they would have immigrant families moving in right next door to them.

But that, as we know, will never happen....

They need to be moved into the community. Into proper housing.
Moving people into a centre builds an "us v them mentality".

    i agree 100%
even though germany is the role-model in dealing with refugees,
if you look you can see a lot of videos online of horrific refugee centres in germany
4-500 men from every country under the sun living in converted government buildings,
and unfortunately some nationalities are being the top-dog and bullying the less powerful nationalities (don't want to mention nationalities as i am not racist)

Here’s a radical idea that won’t go down well.

You set up a camp. With all the amenities they need. Each family have their own home. They cook for themselves. Have everything provided. Entertainment the lot. They are welcome.

All they have to do is learn the language and culture of their host country. For six months a year? They do this for 8 hours a day five days a week. They’re basically at school studying to integrate into the culture.

If they need after that they study for a career. They become welcome, productive members of society. They themselves have a self worth and a purpose.

When they are ready they integrate where they are needed. Not lumped into ghettos.

    Crazy. I know…

A noble ambition, but do we really have the means?

Insofar as GDP is a good measure, the economy is booming and yet we're barely balancing the budget.

Edit: As things stand we rank very highly Internationally in terms of social supports.
We need to not lose the run of ourselves to ensure we can provide this support on a sustainable basis.

I think the penny has now dropped across Continental Europe that a sustainable welfare state and unfettered immigration are exceptionally difficult to maintain in tandem. Although it's probably more to do with the political fallout we've seen because of these issues.

Balbriggan is the guinea pig for Ireland. It’s not working well.

There’s a Facebook group called Balbriggan against Racism. Where this sort of stuff in the pics below goes on... Nobody wants to talk about it, just shut down any concerns.

The “racist” post was a post warning taxi drivers to be careful after a taxi driver was beaten and robbed by a gang of black teens.

There was another post with a video of some man shouting abuse at a gang of black young lads, they recorded it and posted it in that group trying to make out they were the victims. It stayed up until someone came along and said they witnessed the whole thing and the young lads pushed him around, threw abuse at him and only recorded the part where he got mad. The post was promptly deleted.

Think Sweden is a bit late to change it's current course of action. PEW stats show Sweden could be up to (high scenario) 30% Muslim by 2050.

I wonder is the fact that Sweden is in the midst of a credit fuelled housing boom, anything to do with the unrest they're experiencing in their society? Just a thought
