These two states are not mutually exclusive.

In fact, I'd say they are usually found paired.

Eminem. I never saw anyone to change as much he did from his first album up to his latest. What a ****

He just needs to realise he's in his mid 40''s, and stop shouting and being angry about everything.
First 3 albums were tip top, he should have left it so after that.
Pink is going down the same route. Teenage angst in her mid 30's.

    Madonna!

Hell of a difference between her 80's output and the god awful shyte she comes out with now.

Actually, by that standard, Sinead O' Connor fits that bill too (90's output obviously), and what she comes out with nowadays.

    Ryan Giggs

I'm a Welsh Manchester united supporter so naturally he was a big hero of mine growing up .

    Never cool. Sorry .

He had built up a bit of cachet for himself up to the Joshua Tree. Then he tumbled spectacularly. Saw him on the BBC thing last night and was cringing at the gimp. I reckon there are a few decent solo albums in the Edge. And Larry and Adam could guest on them.

Has been controversial for a long time. People got riled up about Bengali In Platforms and Asian Rut in 1988 and 1991. His musical output has declined sharply though - maybe that heightens or makes his recent outbursts come across even more badly then they sound. IMHO his last good album was Maladjusted (20 years ago).

In the height of his pomp he was advocating suicide booths for victims of terminal illnesses and bragging how he would bite the bullet himself should he get a diagnoses.
It was a bit reckless considering his own dad had died of oesophageal cancer.
When he did get a diagnoses he fought like the devil to the end.
    RIP

He was always pretty dumb, even in the 90s, even amongst footballers, he stood out as a painful interviewee.

He's actually anything but, he's an intelligent and articulate individual..
I think what most people hold against him is the shagging of his brother Rhodri's missus...not the best move ever...

Can't understand the Billy Connolly one.
Saw him interviewed recently and I still love the guy. Coping really well with Parkinson's too.
He didn't give a **** for convention when he was younger. He's a lot older and still doesn't.
    Legend.

Gay Byrne would be my choice.
Great interviewer in his heyday, but really stopped trying in his last few years as a broadcaster. Self important snob by the end.

    Stephen Fry.

I used to enjoy a good laugh watching QI... but then he wouldn't shut up during the show or outside of it. Can't stand the man now.

He was never cool to begin with, I just want to point of what a massive príck he is.
