If I had the choice of watching F1 live on Sky or having to wait for a delayed Channel 4 broadcast, I'd choose the latter!

I pay for sky sports purely for Sky F1 (and NFL).

Delayed cover is not good enough IMO. The race would be ruined on facebook or here!

I have developed strategies to avoid hearing about the race when watching later. These include "radio silence" on here and FB :)

Oh I know it's far from ideal, but I'd rather put up with that than have to listen to insufferable gobshites like Jonny Herbert.

    Bit harsh there.
Herbert is not my cup of tea either but he had a respectable career in F1 being a three times winner. He also was part of a Le Mans winning driver team. Credit where credit is due.

I never said he couldn't drive, but being half decent at a particular sport and being a good pundit are two completely different things.

Sad, she's head and shoulders over anything Sky's got. I wonder what will happen to the rest of the team. :(

I think she's fine as long as there's a script in front of her. Without it, she fumbles and stutters a lot. That said, I'd much prefer listen to Lee over Herbert...he's insufferable.

Brundle is the best thing about Sky, Ted Kravitz on the other hand is the absolute worst. He's everything that's wrong with Sky. Tabloid journalism and forced banter with his old pal David Croft, I refuse to refer to that plonker by his ever so original nickname

Yeah, it's the pair of them clowns that'll keep me away. The pair of them are insufferable.

Anyone know if Radio 5 Live will be still be covering the races next year and who the lead commentator is?

Kittensofts should be interesting this weekend at Monaco. I am expecting more speed in the corners obviously, but, if someone makes a mistake, I'd fear the barriers are not going to be very forgiving. It'll hurt.

Free Practice 1 and 2 for the Monaco race is on Thursday. Maybe time to start a thread on it even if not many of us will be able to watch it that day. Bound to be some mistakes and crashes in it.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

You'd almost feel sorry for him if he wasn't such a moan bag on the radio.

Hehehe. I reckon Romain will keep it clean this weekend. Kmag, on the other hand, is a ticking time bomb. :p

Yep, contracted up to 2022. Current team is Jack Nicholls (Formula E lead commentator) and Jolyen Palmer on commentary with Jennie Gow in pits, however it must be mentioned that they aren't attending non European races and commentate from the UK on what they see on screen.

    This too shall pass.

I was checking Google for when the Monaco hotel leaked water onto the track in a race I watched and found this nteresting stuff that brought back some memories of a few races I'v watched.

Brilliant. Had a listen to Nicholls and he's quite good. At least there is an alternative.

No more kitten soft. At the track it will be only soft, medium and hard. While soft could be kitten, hyper, mega, super or ultra soft.

Dunno if its been mentioned anywhere here, but Ferrari are under investigation by the FIA for allegedly getting an illegal boost from their ERS.
Ferrari are under scrutiny from the International Automobile Federation (FIA) that governs Formula 1 for an alleged infringement with regard to their F1 power unit.
The speculation regarding their power unit has been rife since Sebastian Vettel took pole position in three of the first five races with teams suggesting that Ferrari may be able to boost energy flow to the power train beyond the 120kW limit mandated by the technical regulations.
It is being reported that the FIA will monitor Ferrari’s Energy Recovery System (ERS) — one of the six components that make up the power unit — during the ongoing Monaco Grand Prix weekend, before making any judgments on the same.
“Ferrari are under the microscope with the governing body asking the team to run an extra piece of hardware that monitors their Energy Recovery System. The FIA will monitor the system in operation before analysing data and making any judgments,”
