Was just saying something similar to the misus last night DvB. Would take another few weeks of this if it meant things would be back to normal by late summer so could maybe squeeze in a few days away in Ireland, kids back to school in Sept and then a normal end to the year.

I have given off before about the run up Christmas and how manic it can be and you are constantly on the go however it seems like heaven at the minute! It's amazing the things you miss when you don't have them or think you wouldn't get them....

The house is as clean and tidy as it was for Christmas now

The reasons why (massively cut commute time and no socialising) are a lot less fun though.

    Happy Easter-Eve! :)

Going to take advantage of the sun, and do a bit of gardening today.

Happy Easter Eve guys!!!! It's been a weird Easter. Normally I treat it as Christmas' little cousin and decorate the house, have lots of Easter adventures, visit the Easter Bunny, go to egg hunts, etc. Obviously we couldn't do any of the out of the house stuff, but I've had a very strange respiratory illness since just after St Patrick's Day, so wasn't up to doing the at home projects I'd planned instead. But thankfully I did manage to get the house decorated over the last couple of days and managed to have a sneaky hour this evening today where I got the easter basket all filled up and the egg hunt stuff is all ready and waiting to be set up tonight when S is in bed. Going to make some snacks in a bit and watch Hop. Then go out in the garden to find some dandelions to leave in a bowl for the bunny!

Yesterday was a BEAUTIFUL day. I cut the grass did some weeding. The doggo had a play date in the park and we had a game night via zoom.

It was the best day I had since isolation started but I think that was all down to the sun. It’s hard to be grumpy when it’s sunny :)

Happy Easter to one and all. I earned more brownie points by getting the OH and egg and her forgetting. I love the HO, HO, HO, Merry Easter pic.

I spent the weekend in the garden also, cut the grass, forked the soil (giving me loads of blister) and applied fertiliser. I also bought an weather station with an outside sensor and internal LCD screen. It's about 38 so a bit hot to be outside but I like the stats.

We cut the grass last week too but don’t have the strength to pull up the weeds properly in the flower bed, my housemates Uncle normally does that for us so will have to wait until lockdown is over

I’m also available after lockdown for weed pulling I accept chocolate or baked goods as payment.

I have ONE Christmassy scented candle (cinnamon) left in the house. The urge to unleash it now is getting quite great, but I should probably hold off until replacements are easier available.

A guy I know put his Christmas tree up today. His partner is battling cancer so they are on total lockdown and just leave for essentials so put it up to cheer themselves up

    Unleash the candle!!

In relation to the tree being put up to cheer up the person with cancer the Christmas spirit is strong. I have put this up before, in short my eldest elf was a very sick baby so we spent months in temple street and our ladies. One June in the parents breakout room another parent was decorating a little tree to bring in to their kid as a surprise and the poor little fellow would not see Christmas and hadn't long to go. Beautiful and heart breaking to this day.

Loved the couple of stories about people putting up their tree's to either cheer themselves up or because they won't see another Christmas.

If I knew I wouldn't make it to Christmas, no matter what time of the year it is that's one of the things I'd do plus get the whole family round for a whopper of a Christmas dinner together.

When you read other peoples's hardships we really do have nothing to moan about.

The weather makes a huge difference. On Saturday (sunny) I was mentally fine. Yesterday (lashing rain all day) if someone had offered to put me to sleep until it was all over, I'd have jumped at it. Today (sunny) I'm happy out again.

^^ I am the opposite, it's getting too hot to be outside here and the ground is to hot for the little elf. I would love an Irish winter right now, plus it would mean it was closer to Chrimbo.

Either way i suspect it's going to be a long summer for most of us with little to break the monotony, hang in there though, we'll get through this eventually and get to enjoy ourselves again... hopefully by the time the build up starts we can look back at all this.

I am wearing one of my fat suits today, they are generally kept for after Christmas after over indulging. My current covid kilos are + 2.4kg.

The one positive I have is that with no commute to work I'm getting plenty of running in and by willpower am avoiding boredom eating so my weight is going in the right direction finally, fingers crossed I can keep it up. Though must admit I'm having a beer or 2 at the weekend as a treat, so if I avoid the snacking during the week feel less guilty about it.

Fair play, we are not allowed leave the house for exercise, only essential food, medicine/work. Sadly no running for me.

That's hard. I'd be lost completely if stuck inside all day every day. The one thing keeping me sane is the exercise.

I’m also wearing a fat suit. It’s mostly made up of skin and chocolate.

Same the walks and runs in the park are the only thing keeping me sane at the moment.
