I bought one of those scary doorbells in homestore and more but of course, it needs nailing to the door and I ain’t doing that.

Anyhoo, it still makes me jump when I press it so when some older kids were at the door I told them they get no sweets unless they press it.

Little fecker no.1 “if I press it can I keep it?”
Little fecker no.2 “I’ll press it if you give me 2 euro”

They got a drumstick each. Little sh1ts.

I hate Christmas but love Halloween. Halloween is Xmas for losers and deadbeats.

Lots of callers, the candy is almost gone. Rocky Horror on at full blast, time to crack open a bottle.

Now that the 1 or 2 yr olds are finished, time to start answering the door with my scary as **** warewolf costume. Have the wife set to open the door slowly, with nightmare soundtrack on YouTube, and the hall in pitch black. :D

My first Halloween living in Town. Bought 5 bags of sweets, haven't even gone half way through the first yet. Starting to worry that I've massively overbought.

The fúck it isn't, I've been doing it since 1983 "Help the Hallowe'en Party" we called it back then. Oranges, apples and all different kinds of nuts instead of sweets and chocolate. Fireworks from the north and sparklers out the front before going to the fire.

The 80s? Not exactly a tradition.

I'm going to see The Shining in the Lighthouse soon so was taking a shower when the first doorbells came. Rushed out and answered the door in my bathrobe and a bunch of kids with one parent all said 'Trick or Treat' in unison. "I'm Harvey Weinstein" I said out loud "does anyone want to watch me take a shower??". They all screamed and ran off. Merry Halloween everyone!!

I brought my niece and nephew out, loads of kids on the road, great atmosphere.

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

The poor dog is barking here. Doesn't like fireworks or bangers. No truck or treaters. It's a very quiet street. But someone is a street nearby is driving the poor thing mad. Sooner they stop the happier she'll be:(

I left all the sweets out at the front door, disconnected the doorbell (so the dog wouldn't have a meltdown), and now I'm in the pub.

hope ya left the radio / tv up at a good volume.... it's gonna be a scary night for a lot of doggy's.

What's the nicest place to go to view fireworks in North Dublin City?

I've two Italians that don't celebrate Halloween that much, was thinking Howth but need somewhere you can drive to the view.

Mad isn't it how children weren't mass kidnapped back even in the early/mid 90s on Halloween when we used to go trick or treating?

Unfortunately not all kids are lucky enough to carry the same ugly and repulsiveness gene as you might have had :pac:

It is an Irish tradition - my grandparents would have knocked on doors asking for help with the Halloween party and it is probably far older than that.

In fairness, that's true. I know your grandparents well and sure they were always going around knocking on doors asking for help with the Halloween party.....they feckin had me pestered last week so they did

There is some new banger they have this year that's like a bomb going off. The house shakes with it.

Got €7 worth of sweets at weekend.. they were gone in under 40 minutes by 6pm.

Have nothing left but angry trick or treater's knocking at an unanswered door.. was thinking of giving Cup Of Soup's but that might make things worse!

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,423 ✭✭✭✭Outlaw Pete

Tried to book tickets to that earlier but it was sold out :(

Carrie is on later (@21:45) in the new refurbished Stella in Rathmines.

    A bed is only €38 :P

Already through most of our stash, the GF picked up more on her way home. Seems to have died down though.

I have to say everyone said thanks etc. I always compliment the outfits, hey I was the kid in the black plastic bag once to.

One Dad was really thankful, he must have been at a few scrooges houses beforehand.

First they came for the socialists...
