    Suggestion (in a friendly manner)

Should prefix your message with your location when describing the weather your way?.

    KILDARE/DUBLIN border for example.

Might help others understand the extent and reality of the storm as it develops and approaches them

    Great idea

Unreal gusts here in west Limerick now. How the power hasn't cut off I'll never know.

In east Limerick, wind is getting bad now

Not as bad as i thought it was going to be. Took a walk around the yard and it was okay. Not as bad as Darwin...so far.

Wind starting to pick up here in Dublin. Stay safe, stay indoors people and keep your windows closed. Make sure you have a couple of candles in case the power goes.

    Batten down the hatches!!

They should be charged. Pair of eejits putting the lives of rescue services in danger.

100% - I know they never would probably because of some rule/code/oath, and also because it's against the type of person that works for rescue services, but anyone who goes and does something like that and gets stuck should be left to save themselves in my opinion. And if they can't... tough.

Things just got real people. TV3 have scheduled a four hour storm special starting at 3pm. That means that Elaine and the Six O' Clock show have been cancelled.

Same location and tbh I wasn't expecting it to be as bad as it is at this juncture. I live in a very open location though but given the fact it could be very late afternoon by the time it hits this location and the fact it is getting incrementally worse, I anticipate it to be much worse than most think.

I was one of the ones who laughed when schools were cancelled today up this way, but I can see the sense of it completely now

Are churches open today to take in the needy and homeless?
Seeing as hotels in west Clare can do it, surely the auld churches can open the doors too?

Thank god Elaine has been cancelled. We'd have conversations such as "Is Ophelia a methaphor for feminism sweeping through Ireland?'
