Would be great to see the like of Turnbull and Dalton get an extended run in the league next year - could be just what we need to add more depth in the forwards.

Cork have every chance next year but we need more direct ball in to the forwards and cut out a lot of this short stuff. It's painfull to watch with the ball winners we have. Galway were at the short passing last Sunday and limerick blew them away.

    Which ball winners is that?

Out of our forward line only Harnedy wins his own ball

I’m being a bit presumptive here but when Cork win the u21 hurling surely Fitzgibbon becomes odds on for ypoty again. Personally I think he has it won already he’s been far more consistent than Hayes all year and 5/6 seems too good of an opportunity to pass up for me. Thoughts?

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,034 ✭✭✭KrustyUCC

I think Hayes will win it after the MOTM in the All Ireland

That will hold huge weight even though I agree Fitz was better overall than Hayes this year

I hate saying that before games are played. Be a tough game against Tipp to win.

Is it a selection committee or voted by players that decide YPOTY?

Hopefully Turnbull can make the step up but I have a feeling he's going to be one of those great underage players who never bridged the gap to senior. I think lads like Evan Sheehan and Connery will make far better seniors than him.

Quite definitely the single worst market possible to have a bet on, there will be literally 100's of better 5/6 shots between now and then.

Only a few minutes in and Donegal really have their tactics laid out , their entire team inside their own 45.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,089 ✭✭✭zetecescort

A few sloppy wides keeping Donegal in it, Orla Finn goal has us 1-4 to 0-4 ahead with 8 min left in 1st half

    Ht Cork 1-06 v 0-05

Donegal are following their men with their defensive tactics. They have looked dangerous enough when attacking but I reckon their fowards will tire from all the running back to their own goal.
Cork need to push up more on the Donegal kickouts, apply the pressure then when there's only 8 or 9 defending instead of 13, like they did for the goal.

Thats a very controversial accusation to make of Donegal shamobuc

Just chuckled at that typo but no i agree with you. I suppose Donegal have to do it to stop the strong Cork attack but I think defending like that is not sustainable for any team in the long term. They will tire in the second half and gaps will open up in their defence

Surprised Orla Finn came back on. Presumed she was injured.

Doireann with her third long distance score!

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,089 ✭✭✭zetecescort

Couple of massive scores from Doirenn O'Sullivan, one way to beat the blanket is kick it over their heads

Yellow for Donegal, 4 up with 6 to play.

Saoirse Noonan with a fine goal, she really is a fine sub to have.

    Ft Cork 2-11 v 0-11

Hard fought win. I really despise Donegals tactics- both men and women- and I take extra pleasure when I see them lose.
Good for Cork to have had such a close game for their battle with, I presume, Dublin.

An All Ireland would be most welcome today.

Nervous enough about it, but I think we get over the line

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,089 ✭✭✭zetecescort

yeah, don't think it will be as comprehensive as the Munster final, never is 2nd time around but we should have too much for them. Keep Jake Morris quiet and we will be well on our way

Leaving now. Really looking foward to what should be a good game. I do think we are the better team, but that's not always enough.

    Come on the Rebels !!
