Galway always seem to answer us, they're up by four again.

It's down to two points now. I hope that poor first half won't prove to be costly.

    Putrid performance by Cork.

I'd say we need a goal to save us now.

    Patrick Collins....that's on you..

Well **** it. That awful goal conceded in the first half and the poor wides from cork.

On the bright side, surely that's finally the end of Kieran Kingston and friends now.

Time for Pat Ryan & Wayne Sherlock to come in and drive it on with the successful under 20 teams as the backbone of the team. Instead we'll just get a continuation of the same rubbish again with Furlong taking over no doubt.

Easy to answer when Cork cant be bothered to mark up for puck outs.

Why wont they mark up ?

Bits of bad luck here and there. Even in the dying embers, those shots that came off the post straight to Galway men but plenty of mistakes. Collin’s stands out but the decision making is poor by a load of players. Ponderous, running into trouble and putting teammates under pressure.

Quarter final was probably as good as we deserved considering the mix of a season it’s been. Disappointing to see some players going backwards but there’s still potential to be making semi finals regularly. Quite a bit off being serious competition for a top team.

That's that Galway win by a point, the wait for Liam McCarthy will extend into it's eighteenth year, and that's a fifth championship exit in a row to Galway. That first half performance proved to be costly in the end, but Cork did not deserve to win today really. We were hammered by Limerick, and Clare should have beaten us more convincingly as well.

We beat a Waterford team that took it's eye of the ball, a Tipp team that were a shambles, and we were very poor against Antrim. I hope Kieran Kingston does the right thing for Cork hurling now. It's time to give Pat Ryan a go at it now, and we need to look at blooding some of those all Ireland winning u20 players into the team. Cork hurling will continue to go nowhere until we sort our defence out. Anyway well done to Galway, i hope they win the all Ireland now.

Pat Ryan is the heir apparent for the job. Kieran Kingston Sully and co have had their chance. Great Cork hurling men for sure, but it's time to go lads.

I think that was a mercy killing, because Limerick would have destroyed us yet again. The talent is in the county though, but we're at least three to fours years away from winning an all Ireland imo.

Hoggie and Seamus Harnedy have given great service to Cork. It's look like the two lad's will never get that senior all Ireland medal now. It's especially sad in Hoggies case, because he'd walk into any Cork team from any era really.

We are useless full stop. I'm raging with that chronic performance yet again.

Cork have won just three senior hurling all Irelands since 1990. We have a great history heritage and tradition, but we sadly are also rans in the modern era.

How so...we lose by a point and the goal he conceded was comical... we'll get nowhere if we are happy to accept that sort of rubbish...

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,951 ✭✭✭Straight Talker

We should had Hoggie on from the start. Having him on the bench was a poor decision from a poor manager. Kieran Kingston is a very nice man, and a great Cork hurling man, but he just isn't up to the job as manager sadly. I'd be happy with either Pat Ryan or Ben O'Connor getting the job now. There's certain players there on that panel, who've had more than enough chances at this stage, and they flattered to deceive yet again sadly.

Correct..... and the littany of wides..... the goal chances not taken.... even the 2 at the end that hit the post, an inch to the left both times and we win.

Cork lost the match more than Galway won it.

Galway are a hoodoo team to us now.

We gave Galway a six point head start in that first half, that proved to be a killer really. We fought it out until the end, but Galway always seemed to be able to stay ahead of us.

I'm afraid thats delusional as regards Horgan. He is a great freetaker but doesn't offer enough otherwise against tough defences.
