Great result in fairness. Had little hope. Its also frustrating though that it's taken this long for Cork to show some fire. Will mean little unless win next week, but a terrific performance and least gives us hope. Fair play to team.

Your posts are normally quite negative

You do lose the run of yourself sometimes and need to be gently tapped on the head to make you realise that it means nothing if we lose and don't perform next weekend.

Probably want Limerick to win this game, Clare draw or win they’ll be in the final and nothing to play for against Waterford next week…

  • Registered Users Posts: 598 ✭✭✭supernova5

it wouldn't matter if waterford beat clare by 25 points anyway because cork have now the head to head advantage over them so all cork have to do is beat tipp

Beat Tipp and Cork finish 3rd.

We'd have taken that this morning!!

In all the excitement of the hurlers, I forgot the Cork Ladies Footballers were playing today against Waterford in Dungarvan in the Munster Semi final and won too

    Waterford 1-12 Cork 4-10

Next is Kerry in the Munster final

Some display in fairness. Lehane, harnedy , Connolly unreal.

O'Donoghue some marking job on Hutchinson again

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,415 ✭✭✭The White Feather

Don't forget that this happened today too!

    Hoggie!

Both games will throw in at the same time. With Cork - Tipp now not a dead rubber I'd imagine they'll have it on the news channel or online

One is on RTE1 and the other RTE2

Congrats today. Disgusted but no doubt the better side won

What a win, i've criticised Kieran Kingston and the players at times but they deserve massive credit for that win. Now if we beat Tipp and Clare beat Waterford, then we'll go through to the preliminary quarter finals.I hope we've turned the corner now.

Edit: It seems all we have to do is beat Tipp and we're through. Hopefully Cork will play with that fire passion and spirit, for the rest of the championship now.

once we beat Tipp it doesn’t matter what Waterford do as if Waterford win also we will have same points but head to head will get us through.

if Tipp win and Clare win you will have 3 teams on 2 points then it will come down to scoring difference. Happened a few years ago think it was 2019 in Leinster which put Galway out.

I'll worry about that if it happens, for now let's enjoy a great win against all the odds. Win lose or draw, i want to see Cork play with that effort and passion in every game.

Tim O Mahony is definitely a better option in the forwards.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,034 ✭✭✭Amprodude

Hopefully we can play like that next week too but I be still cautious. They have left us down so many times in the past to not be feeling over confident.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,415 ✭✭✭The White Feather

I agree with you Amprodude, as I said before the Waterford game above, we are capable of a big game but the problem is consistency. Every time I think we have turned a corner, we get dumped back down next game.

I am the biggest critic of Kingston for not changing things when its not working but he made all the right calls yesterday. Playing O'Mahony up front etc I didn't think he was capable but him being animated may have geed us up.

We did the same thing we have done in other games with Collins coming out acting as an outlet when the defence is boxed in. There was only once when we were messing around with the ball that could have led to a goal so that is a worry. Limerick punished us severely but we got away with it against Waterford.

There was a time in the first half where Waterford went 6 to 3 points up and they seemed to be motoring. We seemed to really respond with a lot of effort and tackling and next thing it was a draw again. That was vital and we got a load of belief from it. So that was down to the players themselves stepping up. It is they have to do it, at the end of the day.

We need the same thing against Tipperary now and the problem has been putting performances back to back. If we can have the same again, we will finally reaching our potential. But drifting back into sloppiness and no tackling means we will be back to square one and probably knocked out. Then its back to what could have been again.

Tipp have been a bogey team for us last few years at Senior and underage. Tipp won't fear us.

But if we show the same desire we did on Sunday it should be enough.

All I want us to see is a Cork team go out and give it their all. Someone has to lose but the defeats that Cork have got last few years have hurt a lot.

If we win Sunday then I will take my hat off to team as it be a fantastic turnaround.

I am hopeful for Sunday but nothing more. Tipp are Tipp.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,034 ✭✭✭Amprodude

Totally agree with the above. Tipp are dangerous and you can be guaranteed that they will be up for it.

Half time in the Minor Football

    Tipperary 0-6 Cork 2-9

Cork with a great start building up a lead but Tipp have come back into it

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,038 ✭✭✭zetecescort

Tipp 0-6 Cork 2-9 HT. Much better from Cork, went 0-7 to 0-0 ahead after 10 min. kicking the ball alot more tonight, attacks moving much quicker

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,038 ✭✭✭zetecescort

Tipp 1-13 Cork 3-20 FT. Much better but like us last week Tipp were poor. Hopefully we continue this form in the final and give a proper display against Kerry

Nice score to put up in fairness. A very good win and should give the lads confidence.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,415 ✭✭✭The White Feather

Cork Hurling Team announced. Kingston picked ahead of Barrett and O'Mahony is a sub. Ger Mellerick is back from injury and is a sub too.

Kingston and Connolly in the corners - I like that.

O'Mahony carrying an injury? surely deserved a start this week

I read he is not fully fit so not able for a full game but ok to play a fair bit of it

    Found the article

Other than that, Tim O’Mahony is nearly there. Obviously, we got some game-time into him on Sunday and he’s not quite fully fit yet but he’s nearly there.”

Good win for the Cork Camogie players today in the first round of the All Ireland. We play Clare next week. In the same group Clare drew with Tipp today
