Forwards seem to he behind their men all the time!

Maybe a silly question but why is Páirc Uí Chaoimh not available for the footballers this weekend. I had presumed it was due to Ed Sheeran but that was last weekend?

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,038 ✭✭✭zetecescort

still time to win this but the wides continue.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,415 ✭✭✭The White Feather

Should be at least 5 mins extra time as there have been numerous stoppages for long periods

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,415 ✭✭✭The White Feather

4 mins only? There was another long stoppage after I said there should be at least 5.

I don't think it would matter anyway as our forwards are very poor but there should have been a lot more

won't win many games with shooting that poor

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,415 ✭✭✭The White Feather

We seem to love to give Clare big leads. The senior game as well as this. Can't win a match with bad wides and poor shooting and handing a team a goal. Very like the senior team. So its even more depressing

Our forwards didn't win one 50/50 the whole game

Awful shooting and a gift of a goal.

Should never have lost that game.

It's time there is something done internally with how Cork GAA structures are set up. Obviously not working at all. Losing Senior U20 and minor games is becoming a common theme with Cork hurling. Has it all gone wrong with the past strikes?

  • Registered Users Posts: 165 ✭✭Montys return

Didn't ye win the last two u20s and make the two previous finals?

    Senior = absolutely.

But we've had enormous success at underage in recent years.

I would have to agree with a lot of what Tony Considine says here.

I wouldn't say "enormous" success. We reached four AI final in U20 from 2018 to 2021 (won the first two, lost the second two). We won the minor AI in 2021. But before that we hadn't won an U-20 AI since 1998 and hadn't won a minor AI since 2001.

Considering we hadn't won anything underage in over 20 years, getting to 5 finals in 4 years, winning 3 of them would be enormous success in my book.

Didn't think Ian Maguire is available. Hope he's fit, would be a shame if it's one of those where the injury reoccurs after 10 mns

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,034 ✭✭✭Amprodude

Even if we had him fit it wouldn't be still do. I fear for Cork tonight.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,415 ✭✭✭The White Feather

So how long can Cork keep this game competitive? I'd say maybe 10 mins and Kerry pull clear. Then a practice match for them

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,038 ✭✭✭zetecescort

Getting stuck into them anyway. Having trouble winning our kickouts and some of our forward play is very slow.

    Cork 0-3 Kerry 0-6 after 18 min

Cork making a change at goalkeeper as Michael Martin is limping and in trouble.

  • Registered Users Posts: 39,443 ✭✭✭✭Itssoeasy

Amazing what a score can do to change the momentum and it’s 0-8 Kerry 0-07 cork 29 minutes gone.

Cork doing really well to be fair.

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 32,376 CMod ✭✭✭✭ShamoBuc

Powter really is such a good player.

  • Registered Users Posts: 39,443 ✭✭✭✭Itssoeasy

This is ridiculous from Kerry with the fouling and not getting pulled on it by the ref.

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 32,376 CMod ✭✭✭✭ShamoBuc

Hurley dancing around the Kerry defence. Seriously late tackle on him, well worthy of a yellow, no free given.

    Poor by the ref.

Only 2 points down at ht, very impressive moments for Cork.

  • Registered Users Posts: 39,443 ✭✭✭✭Itssoeasy

I’d have taken been down by 2 at HT before the game.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,038 ✭✭✭zetecescort

Kerry know they are in a game now, willing to do whatever is needed.
