Munster U20 Hurling Quarter Final Full Time

    Kerry 2-10 Cork 2-24

I didn't see it but leaking two goals to Kerry would worry me. (No disrespect to Kerry)

Was that full strength Cork team?

Was that full strength Cork team?

According to this article short a few players from Blarney but made to work by Kerry so fair dues to them.

From Corks point of view it seems there were some good displays but work to do now for Limerick next.

There was a Pat Hegarty that played u21 for Cork in football in 94. Looked very promising. Did he play senior after?

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,421 ✭✭✭The White Feather

Kieran Kingston has revealed on a zoom call that Darragh Fitzgibbon and Eoin Cadogan are out of the Waterford game. Darragh has a hamstring injury whereas Cadogan has a problem with his back. Robbie O Flynn is suspended from his red card earlier in the year.

    Very bad news indeed

With these injuries, Cork have added Alan Connolly, Daniel Meaney, Tadhg Deasy (all Blackrock) and Shane Barrett (Blarney) to senior squad since their county final wins.Deasy is interesting as he didn't start in the county semi final or final but came on as a sub and made a huge difference in both.

Colm Spillane back fit and in frame for selection so maybe this allays my fears a bit! :pac:

    Will Downey be full back?

probably Spillane or Mc Donnell I'd say with the other in one corner with O'Donoghue in the other.

Downey at 6 with Coleman and Cahalane either side would be my guess

Cooper and Meade midfield then? Is O Mahony injured?

    That Cork defence is weak

FFS Cahalane is red useless at this level. We are going nowhere when hes there.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,421 ✭✭✭The White Feather

I think we all know the Cork defence is our weak point but with Covid there is no way to work on that a great deal. We just have to go for it and see what happens. I prefer to think of our attacking potential which I think is very good.

So maybe we can score more than we let in! Not a great strategy I know but hopefully we can get the win!

There is a new mural on Anglesea street/South Terrace. It is done by the Dublin street artist Aches as part of Ardú : ‘Rise' A Street Art Initiative celebrating Cork city’s traditions, history, resolution, and art.

It is fantastic and I think it is not finished yet!

Ye must have some backs down in Cork when the centre back from Blackrock can't make the team. Cashman is a fantastic player. Iv seen him 3 times . Hes aggressive ,can carry and can hold the middle. I dunno if ye have too many players or what.. Cahalane is a liability wing back and a disaster waiting to happen full back. He ball watches and over plays and is rash...some poor decisions by management

Casham. Surely good enough for the panel.
I don't think Coleman is a good defender. Full back. Line very weak

Management don't seem to want to give anyone else a chance in the back, when it's obvious to everyone we are extremely weak there
