    Obviously yes there is.

Please explain further. What exactly is wrong with saying men should be able to control themselves from raping?

    Nothing wrong with that

That not what she she saying
Noreen blackwell said that if a man and women have sex but the woman has drink taken then its rape but if the woman is sober and the man has drink taken it is still his fault

Just so we're being fair to Noreen Blackwell here, do you have a date or a link to when this statement was made?

It's slightly unfair to paraphrase someone from memory. I doubt she has said precisely what you've claimed.

    The man does the penetration.

    The man does the penetration.

that has no bearing on who the rapist would be in a rape case

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,093 ✭✭✭✭Tell me how

    The man does the penetration.

There are some cases where women have been accused of raping men, but they are vastly in the minority compared to the other way around.

Irish law does not recognise female rape. I don't agree with the law but women can't be found guilty of rape, they can only be found guilty of sexual assault.

Nope, that' s a complete lie. What she said was a rape is a rape whether or not either party is drunk.

Do you understand what rape is? I presume you do.

Have you been in a position before where you did something dodgy/illegal with a drunk woman?

I just don't understand these type of comments sometimes.

Have you ever done something dodgy/illegal with a drunk guy? Your comments are far more perplexing to be honest

Listened to her "unscripted" show for the first time.

More car crash radio. Hard to believe this woman is/was a Dr and harder to believe she has a radio show.

Asking if a woman got married to save a relationship because well why do people get married.

"I'm not in the market for a child" regarding foster care. It's like there's not a single thought process going on before engaging vocal chords.

I thought that was a valid question to ask and the caller didn't take offence to it or disagree?

jesus, her treatment to the caller re breathalyzing pregnant woman is absolutely disgraceful.

first off, why give a diatribe at the top of the show about the issue... go to a different issue, then when you come back to the issue go off on the diatribe again ??

secondly, her continuous assumption that anyone promoting this is a man, and a sign of something "paternalistic", is just so bigoted as to be embarrassing... yet.. its her show, her opinion....

why doesnt she be a proper journalist and get someone on the line who is advocating for this????

where was she last august when doctors were advocating for testing pregnant woman for alcohol use?

ciara at her feminazi best today , as usual had no time for the guy who is pro abortion( and contributes regularly on it ) and was supporting the smoking testing .

Totally agree. So condescending through the whole conversation and basically told him his vote on abortion referendum was of absolutely no consequence.
Thought he did a good job of maintaining his composure because she was basically goading him into saying something off the cuff to hammer him on.

I think she is absolutely right and it's ridiculous. Is there no end to controlling people's behavior. Should other family members also be tested because second hand smoke is bad for you too? And that guy is an absolute moron of the highest order. Anyone who knows anything about nicotine addiction will know that people hide it in all sorts of ways. It's not inconceivable women will avoid hospital visits just to avoid the bloody test. My father in law in his seventies will avoid necessary health checks just to avoid conversation about his smoking habits.

youre COMPLETELY missing the point !!!!!!!!

im not debating the issue, im calling her out on her disgraceful treatment of a caller, in which should could do nothing to counter his argument but treat him in a completely contemptful manner.

It's amazing how people blindly miss the point on this.

You can be "right" and professional.

there is no judgement here, other than the womans judgement of herself (if she chooses to hide it, she must be ashamed of it)

its purely a clinical matter in order to diagnose the proper clinical pathway to put her on.... why would a woman not want that for herself?
