I'm as cynical as the next man but that video is legit the funniest thing I've seen in months. When he suggests the bat is making a mockery of him I had to stop watching I was laughing so hard.

    You're doing great.

"He's like McGregor...his legs have gone."

    I liked that.

I know people who act like complete La's when they see a bat because they think it'll get tangled in their hair, so I can believe this.

    What's a La?

Who else saw that thread title and instantly thought it was gonna be The Backwards Man?

    What's a La?

It's a colloquialism similar to ''tulip'', ''wally'', ''big eejit'' et. cetera.
I've no idea what the 'meaning of it is, if there ever was one.

I have to say the video made me laugh, maybe not the height of sophisticated humour but it cracked me up at certain points.

That kitchen is a right tip, wouldn't you think they'd clear all the crap off the table first?

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,022 ✭✭✭jamesbere

Did they ask the bat for permission to film him

They probably arranged the set that way, to look more authentic.

I can't tell for sure but I thought it was balls of yarn on their table. If you're knitting you might go through your yarn and put it in a heap like that while you search through it.

I had a bat in my house earlier in the week, going around and around in circles, none of that drama, got a towel and knocked it to the floor.
then got and left it outside in a safe location where it flew off.

Most people wouldn't record it and put it on the internet unless they wanted to over exaggerate the situation so it will go viral.

Same, don't see what all the fuss is about.

Surely the way to deal with this is just simply open a window, turn off the lights and the bat will find it's own way out in a few minutes.

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,369 ✭✭✭✭Arghus

    I laughed.

It's probably a bit contrived, but I thought some parts were funny - the screams he let out after the bat flew near him, c'mon, that was funny.

But good oul Boards to the rescue - WORST VIDEO EVER! LOAD OF SHYTE! WHEN AM I EVER GOING TO GET THOSE EIGHTY SECONDS BACK. I HATE THIS WANKER I HOPE HE DIES!!

Good job keeping in perspective lads, as always.

Does it not get a bit boring being so begrudging and cynical lads? It's hilarious - and quite a lot of people think so - so let's enjoy it for what it is.

The only part I didn't enjoy was the McGregor bit. That, to me, suggested he was recording it with the purpose of showing everybody and trying to be funny, but the rest is naturally funny.
