Bodyshaming flat chested women? That's not very PC.

I mean does Big Boss know her age? I didn't really play Peace Walker, found it rubbish tbh.

Play a bit of both but didn't finish either. Found it fun but at the same time didn't feel compelled to finish either of them

Or the spy pretending to be a teenager looks like a teenager.
She's 24 during the Peace Walker incident. Quite easy for pretty girls her age to look well under their actual age. Costa Rica's AOC is 15 and Japan's is 13 so not matter what she could still have a go. :pac: Not that her known associates would be likely to give two fecks about that.

All thing's considered she's pretty lucky all she got was some box shenanigans and beach-side flirting with Miller and Big Boss, model-tier looking dudes. She could've done a lot worse during the Peace Walker incident in how she was treated 'romantically' if she had to infiltrate some other PMC or terrorist group.

That's some anime magical girl Loli **** going on there!

Reminder that a man was nearly jailed for "looking at child porn" when the actress in question (Lupe Fuentes) was 19yo at time of filming.

    Young-looking women exist y'all.

Well this thread's gone in a weird direction. Young looking women exist, but there's a big difference between the genetic lottery in real life & a bunch of artists, at the behest of a Creative Director, deciding to fashion an adult woman to look teenage. Everything in video games is designed for a purpose, be it mechanical or emotional- and especially if there's a romantic angle. That was a conscious, stylistic choice. As said already, it's on par with Quiet's "oh, it's just that she breathes through her skin" nonsense, and seen before with "suspiciously childlike 'women'" in Japanese games. It's a fetish, let's just call it what it is.

Sure it's all grand if they look like a 10 year old but are 400 years old.

The magical loli girl loophole is a constitutional right.

Exactly. I haven't played Peace Walker, but even just reading the 'Date Paz' section of her character page on the MGS Wiki should demonstrate why it's problematic that she was designed to look like (and in character terms is pretending to be) a 16 year old girl. The story and character could easily have been written to have her be 18 and it wouldn't have made a difference, or that side mission could have been cut altogether, but it was a deliberate choice to make her look as young as possible and create a provocative side mission featuring her.

As with Quiet, it's a case of the design coming first and then justification for why it's okay coming after.

Young-looking women do exist. Obviously. Fictional characters being purposefully designed to look young and being used to provide titillation is another matter entirely.

There's no way I'm going to let those white-male-hating, loopy-liberal, soy-boy cucks impinge on my freedom of speech and stop me fantasising about 400 year old 10 year olds. In school uniforms. With mini-skirts.

What is paedophilia, lets just leave it there because that's exactly what it is!

    OK but you're wrong.

    Because these are fictional characters.

I'm fine with loli art but I throw up at the thoughts of real-life pedophiles.
(also for Paz it would be ephebophilia)

Fictional characters don't appear mysteriously out of the ether, especially something as explicitly, technically structured as a video game. There are creative directors, artists, writers - whole teams - behind a conscious decision to make these type of characters in a provocative way. Maybe, mayyyyyyyybe there's some honest attempt at swinging for that trope of "old person in young person's body" (seen in films like Freaky Friday & the like) - but the ability to romance those characters makes it less innocent. In a medium notorious for blatant titillation , it just strikes as fetishistic and borderline perverted, and I'm being generous here. As said already, it feels like a thin excuse to forgive arousal or masturbation over an illustrated / idolised pre-teen. And I absolutely include other media that does this, with your Twilight sagas et al.

Saw Lonely Mountains: Downhill pop up on a few end o' year lists and hadn't heard of it til then. Been meaning to pick it up for a few weeks now, but never occurred to me to check if it was on Game Pass. Lo and behold, it was :) Spent an hour with it there and it's very much my... (prepares to ban self)... downhill jam.

Designers have gone for an interesting balance between relaxing cycling / sightseeing game and challenging, precise arcade high-score chaser. It works somehow! Firstly, the game feels really great to play - hitting the breaks to narrowly avoid the rocks feels exactly like it needs to. And then the structure's really interesting too: each track begins with a leisurely, non-timed trip down, and then you gradually unlock more challenging runs each time you pass it. It's the best of both worlds: chilled out experience if you want it, but extremely challenging if you hop up to higher difficulties.

Visual design's clever too - the main path will lead you down the main path, but lesser explored routes can lead you down riskier shortcuts that can shave many valuable seconds off the timer.

Bug-eyed weirdos ranting about how bad "pedo" or 'sexist' stuff in Japanese games are usually the biggest creepers out there, honestly. Glad Japanese creators never listen to em'.

What in the absolute hell happened in this thread?

People defending loli stuff claiming it's just art? Alt Right comics?

    What the hell?

Is Japan that same country that had to have specific train carriages just for women because weirdos keep abusing people on the way to work?

Completely going off topic, and I admit this ...

... I was watching a podcast, so subject to potential mangled facts & bias, but apparently Japan's legal system is interesting in that arrests rarely go in front of a judge. Not unless the police have overwhelming evidence as to the suspects guilt. Therefore the judicial system is mostly a rubber stamping exercise; the consequence of this approach is Japan having a conviction rate that's (one of) the highest in the world, higher than most dictatorships. Needless to say this is ripe for corruption, with some judges simply ignoring the evidence for mistaken innocents because of this formality. Lord knows what then the Yakuza influence has on arrests too.

Hence Japan's famously low crime rate, the podcast inferring that it's mostly because unless there's a smoking gun, literal or otherwise, most suspects don't face a judge. And if they do, they must be guilty cos the system says the due diligence was done. Classical "he said, she said" crimes like sexual assault then must be a nightmare to convict under this requirement of absolute guilt & evidence, as they're nearly always built upon testimony of the accused & victim.

    Video Games! :D

Downloaded this off gamepass as well over Christmas after seeing in feature on a few peoples GOTY lists, I really enjoyed it, but the one qualm I would have is that sometime the perspective makes jumps / landings not as intuitive as I'd like. Its sort of like Trials in a way, but more about steering left and right rather than maintaing balance.

There is a great sense of satisfaction from blindly going down an unmarked path and making it back to the main trail successfully though.

Mod Note: I have deleted an unsavory image. If you want to post stats to back up a point, fair enough, but it can be done without this kind of cartoon. Thanks.
