Long past the arguement stage...it's a Historical debate now.... :)

Apparently several buses have now been painted into the hideous mess posted earlier on this thread.

I'm all for helping the visually impaired, but they shouldn't have allowed a blind person to design a bus livery.

Presumably this one was selected over the other one then? Question now is will we see Dublin Bus adopting this messy hybrid.

Great news. Do you know what the replacement will be?

    Flat fares surely

Next year we will definitely only have two fares: a 90 minute multi model fare and a single mode fare. It may however been done this year but if that isn't the case I'd imagine we will end up with two fares 1-13 Stage and over 13 stage.

Noticed a new stop has been installled for the 63 outside the AIB Bank in Cornelscourt in TFI/GAI branding same as the stops in Dundrum for 75 and 175 which were posted here earlier.

So buses are going to turn here?

That's one for the later stages of driver training.

That's nothing. The very long old single-deck buses (the early low-floor ones) used to occasionally pop up on the 59 route, and some drivers were able to negotiate the mini-roundabout in Killiney village in one attempt.

Very easy once nothing is parked which happens a lot.

Also when they put in the big belly bin it was on the turn circle and had to be moved further up.

New style bus stops have gone up along Fortunestown Way. Look very well. I assume replacing the DB logo on the other stops is just to avoid the whole "those bus stops were fine, they didn't have to replace the whole things. Typical Government wastage" argument.

Must be getting it ready for the start of the 175.

The 86 bus did, of course, make this turn until its demise.

175 launch is meant to be delayed

Not happening this Sunday anyway apparently.

Saw one of the new, new livery today - my god they must be embarrassed by them, look an absolute state, like someone started painting over a DB livery and clocked off before the job was done.

Crap livery, launch postponed and apparently interior reworks to be done too. Bit of a shambles.

Buses will be ready though they will just use the ones transferred over.

Can't see them starting it late or it will really look bad.

The 9th is back on according to their Twitter(if it was ever off nobody really knows)

    The process of finding out going by Twitter shows what we have in store;

GoAhead were awaiting clarification from NTA
    NTA said to contact GoAhead

Maintaining low expectations and expecting to be disappointed by anything the NTA touch

There was talk of a possible delay due to "politics", but their Twitter feed suggests no delay:-

I thought it was because they didn't know if they had time to get all the cut and shuts done....

It seems that my source was incorrect, although to be fair GA themselves were yesterday stating that there was no launch date confirmed publicly, so either something has changed or there was a communications breakdown somewhere in GA giving wrong info.

The 9th has been on the GA website for the last two months. It was announced on the Go-Ahead website back in July when it was announced which DB services would switchover when.

That's a news article, generally news articles are not updated later on if something changes.

I know but you'd think they release further info or another article if the service had been delayed. The lack of information about this service has been very poor. The NTA have come across as very amateur.

Where did we hear this before. Same story as the introduction of the 139.

The majority of locals did not even know it existed till they seen it past by.

What else would you expect from the NTA

Wah wah wah. More NTA bashing from the DB drivers/fan club. It's getting extremely repetitive. It would be great if you guys could give it a rest, even for a few days. I don't know what campaign you're running, maybe you think the NTA will be abolished and the DoT will be back in charge again or something but I wish you'd lobby for that somewhere else.
