If I was a betting man I’d bet he is a soccer goalie .....

Well he is a soccer goalie about to win an All Ireland football Championship having been one of the pivotal figures along the way
He was excellent second half to be fair
The way he comes for a high ball and his kicking style is what I’m alluding to by the way

The red mist certainly descended. Grabbing a player by the throat is one thing but pushing the ref afterwards is a definite no no.

What does the free taker do in those circumstances? Aim over the head of the smallest man on the line?

Yeah, as I said, a bit flamboyant at times but he is a top keeper.

Funnily, he made his senior Championship debut at county level before club level

He came again there for a high ball in no mans land . A flick and it was in .
Makes me think he used to coming for them in soccer when lads can’t used their hands

    Anyway well done Kildare .
Only 2 points in it but in reality they were the better team

Commiserations to the Mayo lads. Overall they were 2nd best with the Hyland lad outstanding for Kildare. We've some good lads in there. Let's hope they keep the fire in the belly and push on from this

Was he sub keeper up in Newbridge during the league against mayo ?

Jordan Flynn will be seeing a nice long ban for that.

Yip he really helped out his teammates for the last 10 minutes with that pure stupidity.

Jordan Flynn should get a nice long suspension for himself.

I know he's only young but disgraceful behaviour from him during the sending off incident, bad enough what he did to get sent off but pushing the ref is simply not on.

There is nobody from that u20 team anywhere near ready for senior

Thought Horan at centre back was probably the pick

Did our midfielder push the ref or what ?

yeah, well he was on the panel all year with Masterson and Jimmy. I imagine there is another keeper knocking around obviously

Yep, the full Di Canio. Thankfully the ref was steadier on his feet than the late Paul Alcock.

This is the thing about the change from u21 to u20
These guys have a long long way to get to senior, with nothing in-between.

The junior grade should really now be used by all counties as a go between and maybe even the GAA could change it officially to an u-23 grade.

Ah, Aaron O'Neill is an excellent keeper. He seems very "flamboyant" today in some of his decisions though! Needs to settle

Bit of a "shaper" no doubt!

I thought we played far too open in the first half and the Kildare inside line had the freedom of Croke park. We really needed to make some tactical changes and in fairness we were much better in the second half. Horan really looks like he has the makings of an intercounty footballer and O Donaghue too but he needs to bulk up a fair bit.

Jordan Flynn will be a spectator for quite a while after that sending off.

Didn't manage to see the match. How did Oisin McLoughlin play? He needs a lot of bulking up, but I thought he might be a prospect for the future.

It is just my opinion but he is just too small
    Him and a few more

What was flynn being sent off for? I missed that bit. You could see by solans reaction that he feared the worst once flynn got involved. He must be a bit hot headed.
Mayo fans wont let themselves down with the blame-everyone-but-our-man bullsh*t that has gone before, his actions were disgraceful and he deserves his expected 12 week ban, no excuses or mediating factors.

Re horan playing well, wasnt he the guy who was marking hyland once maughan went off? An unenviable task I accept, but it is a bit of a stretch to say he done well. His man scored a hatful.

I thought we needed to get conroy into the game more. I wouldnt be rushing out to give solan the senior job either. He left his fb line isolated for the whole game. The kildare ff line was much vaunted going into this game. We have had enough of that naive kind of thinking.

O'Donoghue looks an excellent prospect I believe. Lambert was good too

What's the story with Sharoize Akram btw? Had heard he was a bit torn between sports for a while but was still involved in the development squad. Would like to see him get some game time next year. What I remember of his underage performances, he had a bit of an engine.

There will be very few players ready for Senior football at 19/20 these days. Add 2/3 years in something like that (or development squads) while undergoing a S&C programme and they'll be ready.

That Flynn incident was ridiculous, I had just switched back over from the hurling when he was being sent off. What actually triggered it? He seemed to be completely incensed all of a sudden.

Disgraceful carry on. He should be receive a long ban. Behaviour like that has no place in any sport.

At least he won't have far to travel to the New York game.

    Idiotic.

We were second best today but boy Kildare rode their luck sitting back on their lead.

As has been mentioned lots of the lads need to seriously bulk up and grow a few inches.

Thought Louisburgh's Joe Dawson did very well when he came on for the unfortunate Johnny Maughan.

I couldn't see from my vantage point what happened to him in terms of game ending injury?

Thought our full back line struggled greatly on some top top forwards.

The half back line was impressive but the two wing backs need to really bulk up.

Our midfield duo held their own against a top midfielder in Masterson.

Expected a lot more from Conroy,he's a real prospect.Ryan O Donoghue is a quality footballer but is small.

Diskin was our best player inside, things just didn't run for Colm Moran.

Ross Egan kicked his share of frees.

It's something that will follow him too. Opposition will now know that he can be wound up enough to lose it and will play on that.
