Could be the end of the road here :(

How was that not a free in to tipp after the black card?

Interesting sub for Boyle. Young Hanley will presumably go forward so there will be a little reshuffle.

Tipp playing with some confidence now and Mayo are woefully pedestrian. Quinlivan, Sweeney and Fox are class acts. Mayo losing it at midfield

This has some ominous feel to it

Did they not just take it short and he blew it up?

Amazing what a flukey goal can do. Suddenly the heads went up when that went in and they kicked on.
Thought the fitness levels looked good towards the end.

Durcan and Hanley bring a bit of pace and physicality to the forward line. Not easily pushed aside.

Happy to have survived that, wasn't really looking good there at one stage. Any word on SOS? If Barry Moran is fit now is your time...

Great performance from Mayo. Never let the heads drop, completely dominated after Duran's goal. It isn't luck at this stage.

Any idea of possible opponents for next weekend? I know the draw is on monday but what teams are left?

Open draw from the 8 winners this wk/e. So avoid Tyrone or Monaghan in the next round and the Super 8 is probable.

Shoulder gone is what there saying that’s him goosed if it’s true.

Leroy is not a midfielder and why was he so reluctant to kick for point, some point he got just at the end

Round 3 certainly looks very likely to be a stiffer test than round 4, almost irrespective of draw...

That's obviously down to management, don't agree with it myself players should be let have a pop

We REALLY need a soft draw monday
Round 4 after that won't be the Ulster minefield round 3 is

As he know I'm always positive and bullish about Mayo's chances every year.........bit that seamie injury may be one too far .. especially with donie and Barry Moran still out and not even togged
No team can cope with losing so many midfielders
Having said that I thought Diarmuid did an excellent job and fielded a lot of good ball.

    And now for the negative
    Rochford
Good lord. How did he persist with Paddy Durkan basically playing full back against a lad a foot taller than him ? How did he even decide on that in the first place????
The substitutions were all bizarre too.
I've stuck with him till today but he has lost me now .

The Cian Hanley experiment has to stop. It's too soon for him .
Colm Boyle looked like a man running on empty from the start and looked happy to get a black. He was 5 minutes trying to get one .
Higgins was far far far too loose as a sweeper
    Seamie :(

    The positives
    Caff
    Kevin Mac
    Jason Doc
    Diarmuid
Cillian looks back on form this year
James Durkan and Eoin O Donoghue providing 2 excellent new options
    Winning without Andy scoring .

So an easy draw monday please god
Monaghan or Tyrone next week and we are in trouble I'm afraid

    Draws that would suit Mayo

    Leitrim
    Armagh
    Clare/Offaly

After that I’m not so sure

You must have been watching a different game to most other people. Durkan was excellent in second half.

Cillian was possibly the worst player on the pitch today. Don't think he touched the ball bar when taking frees.

I am glad I am not the only one thinking Rochford isn't up to it
He doesn't seem to have a clue I think he will go after this season anyway

We looked completely devoid of ideas in the first half. I thought it was curtains. Any non-Ulster team in Round 3 please!

For the first 55/60 mins Tipperary were far more clinical, dynamic and organised than Mayo....I genuinely thought we were on the way out.

Our full back line and midfield were getting annihilated. Quinlivan was impressive and we seemed to have no plan or personnel to combat him. Had to laugh at the Tipp goalie taking ages every time looking for a short kick out option when his midfielders were winning practically everything that came their way.

Our attack (after the opening flurry) was poor as well....the wrong option taken so many times.

But then a flukey goal and our superior fitness/stamina came to the fore. Tipp completed blew up around the hour mark...there was one attack (possibly for the first Keegan point) where I could see 3 Tipp players either on the deck or doubled over looking totally bollixed.

This team has huge heart and all that but not sure how far that will get them.

Higgins, COC and Boyle were seriously off form today...Durcan huffed and puffed a lot with not a lot of end product imho.

Was actually impressed with AOS today....when the game was in the mixer he won a lot of ball and drove the team forward without any of the fannying about and antics that he was carrying on with against Limerick.

And a final note....my 5 year old Limerick born son is now a major Mayo fan :-) He was completey swept up by the red and green fever in Semple Stadium today...great to see him getting into it

Well great to get the win but midway through the second half i really thought we were goners. We were absolutely reeling and Tipp were jogging through us

But for the fluke goal would we have pulled away so easily? Im not so sure

Durcan showed brilliantly, and K Mc was my MOTM but huge credit to Doc too. AOS worked tirelessly.

Too many players off the pace and with no midfield we really need a soft draw badly on monday

Still hanging in there but as it stands would be surprised to see us in a semi

After watching the Munster final i think we may have created one heck of a monster last August. All the best in 3 weeks Galway...

Don't understand how some are that worried about Seamie's injury. I've always rated him as a good honest player and a workhorse but he's very limited going forward.
Tom Parsons is a big blow alright but now's the time to try something different. Thought Leeroy done fine in there today. I'd like to see him and Diarmuid midfield the next game.

That would be nice to try out if we get Leitrim tomorrow:D.
