Dan comes across as a decent person and a nice man. I can't seem him as a rapist somehow.

Unfortunately, those are usually the very ones who are.

Looks like those of us who predicted that
    Dan raped Aoife
    were correct!

RTE just put up a sneak peak video of tonight's episode and
    Aoife confronts Dan about it.

bet the actor who plays Dan said to the producers "give me a juicy storyline that people can get their teeth into - i'm fed up with just going round in my wheelchair in every episode , and that scene with Robbies wife where we kissed was pathetic!"
    :D

No? I meant abusers are often seen by the wider community as 'nice guys' (or girls) who'd 'never go something like that'. I was challenging the idea that a rapist is an obvious baddie. Unfortunately it's usually a person close to us you'd 'never suspect'.

    I couldn't agree more.
At least I have a bona fide legitimate reason to hate Dan now. I never liked him but now I can slag him off without having people say ''awww poor Dan'', or ''he's in a wheelchair, God love him'' (usually it's my mother saying that). I doubt she'll have anythign good to say about him now.... And I've just won a fiver bet with her. :D

Hi all. I'm finished. Thanks for all the laughs. Merry Christmas. For the real fans of FC, you're deluded it's an embarrassment to the National Broadcaster. For those in it for laughs I really think the bad times have outweighed the good. FC is unwatchable.
    Enjoy

Awww... No... :( I've only recently started posting, and you were one of the posters I enjoyed...... I know FC is s***e but that's what makes this thread so good.... Wish you'd stick around.

agree - ah well in soaps anything goes

Tonight was one of the weakest written eps of FC ever, in terms of continuity and characters actions. I mean, everyone just happened to be in Spar this morning- Doug, Debbie, Miriam, Eoghan, Dan, Robbie and Karen and Aoife- what are the bloody chances of that happening?? Practically zero. Don't any of these people work? Why would they ALL need to grab something all at the same time. I know soaps need a way for relevant characters to meet but this is the height of laziness.

Then, the next scene- Debbie, Miriam and Eoghan were in Vinos?! Oh call over for lunch says Manson, so that suggests its mid morning, does Debbie not work? Carol left for work in the same scene, yet the very next scene she is grilling Dan in his flat, and all before lunch. So when did she get the time to visit him?

    Must try harder FC.

Sure he beat someone up so bad, he was left permanently brain damaged.

At least the storyline is moving along and we know (have a fair idea) Robbie/Karen will know the truth by Thursday evenings episode.

Beats the plan and Niamh and Paul doing the Hokey Cokey.

Everything about FC is ridiculous, like having Suzanne, the nicest member of the Doyle family turning into a husband battering maniac, and Juliet who was raised in Liverpool and obviously went to school, made friends, etc, there, coming back to Dublin minus a Scouse accent, and then having Miriam - whom I thought had just been brought into the show as a love interest for Eoin - turning out to be Dublin's answer to Charles Manson, (well, she hasn't asked her followers to kill anyone yet, but when she does it'll be an ambigious order and the victim will be; quite probably Oakley, but that's just my guess). And as for far fetched storylines, don't get me started on the whole plan by Niamh and Dermot to fleece Paul of all his money, and then like a clown Paul stays with her, despite their showdown..... All the same, it's gas to watch. :D

Why doesnt Manson want anyone wearing their shoes in the cult house?

It's a tradition in Scandinavian countries. I remember having to do it visiting a Finnish friend.

Don't know what her reasoning is..

But then Dan was a tower of strength so to speak with Yvonne Doyle after her date rape

To the best of my knowledge when Dan first came into it didn't he have some kind of dark secret/past?

I think it was hinted at, but then I think we all assumed it was (and probably the FC writers were thinking along the same lines back then too, but we alll know how they love their revisionism :D) his beating up of yer man and half killing him. I remember him being a bit of a p***k to the staff when he bought the station, though, so the nice guy thing wasn't a trait he started out with. I can't stand him anyway, every scene with him since Nurse Bronagh was tending lovingly to him in the hospital was like watching paint dry. And that basketball crap was dire..... I don't think any regular FC watcher sat down at eight of a Tuessday evening and thought to themselves: ''Jaysus, can't wait to see how the Condors are getting on, riveting stuff that''!

I must say they pushed the boat out on the Rose Dementia storyline that time...

is it come to a full stop now then - did she go away and see a friend and forgot where she lives now?

God! I'd forgotten all about that. She mustn't be too far gone, because she remembered to ask them to send down the winter coat and another few bits and pieces. :p

I think the actress is probably taking an extended break because of the death of her husband.

they missed a trick there at the end of that episode tonight - if you want to grip and enthrall your viewers you dont have a character say "im warning you not to say anything or you will be sorry" - you end it with Aiofe bashing yer man in the wheelchair , beating him up good and proper black and blue then tipping him out of his wheelchair then whacking him with the said wheelchair and saying "if you say anything you fecker there will be more from where that came from you despicable cripple!"

    <END TITLES>
