Had a beautiful dream last night my 45,000 shares in dairygold were bought by the China man who came to the rescue at 82 euros a share (value of Kerry shares). Millionaire 3.5times over, serious plans for the future milking cows not one of them next thing that noisy fu*ken lorry drives in to the yard to collect my milk at 5:30 wakes me up from my beautiful dream then I realise I have 45000 dairygold shares which are worth very little the fact I can't sell them until I am 68 yrs old. Wasn't it an awful pity we didn't go to Kerry co-op when we had the opportunity.

Do Kerry collect much around Millstreet?

From what I understand Noel C in not the only millionaire in Millstreet. However the Kerry catchment area runs to a few miles west of Millstreet. But there were a few who moved back in the day when Kerry were involved in a milk war with DG or was it even Ballyclough at the time? I cant remember? Most famous of all was the supplier who was about to head west but changed his mind at the 11th hour. Two of his children got jobs in Dairygold shortly afterwards. Probably in his case the only supplier who made the right choice not to leave, but even with the career path his children took, it probably is still a marginal call. Also a few dual suppliers who have slipped away to Kerry under the radar post quota.

Richie is correct. When farmers talk about having Kerry shares. Very often they are talking about hundreds of thousands or even millions worth of shares, that can be cashed in at any time. Id say Denis Brosnan must be sadly missed by the Kerry farmers.

Kerry has approx 25 suppliers in the millstreet area. They collect milk down as far as lombardstown which is only 5 miles from dairygold plant in mallow. They also have approx 100 suppliers in north cork formerly of Newmarket co op which they bought in 2009 for a knockdown price of 22million which includes one of the finest cheese plants in Europe.

Farmer ed ur right in what u say about millionaires around millstreet. A rough rule of thumb is for every 10 cows since 1990 you have 100000 euros worth of Kerry shares. E.g 80cows =800k. Isn't it very hard to buy a bit of land when there's that much money floating around without having to go to the bank

Just stumbled across this. Very interesting reading. "Project Emperor" Whats that you may ask? Well according to Deloitte, it's the name of a project that they advised Dairygold on. I kid you not! (Me thinks someone has been watching a lot of James Bond movies!) Anyways for the humble fee of 43k Deloitte were delighted to supply "Provision of final support, advice and analysis to develop and execute a strategy for IMF in to the Chinese market".

Must be planning on buying IMF from someone else and selling it on or something as they dont make any themselves? Still "Project Emperor" Great name! 10 out of 10 for the name!

This is gas reading! Here is another one that stands out and a special hello to all the Arrabawn people on here.

Project NCB! Ok now this one didn't cost as much possibly the name is not as exotic or something? But they paid 15k for the "Provision of support and advice in relation to the potential amalgamation/takeover with neighboring processors."

Must have been worried that Arrabawn might take them over or something so obviously 15k well spent!

Might share more when I get a chance. Mad stuff altogether! Thanks to who ever it was sent me a copy. A lot of bed time reading in this! All these project names are sooo 007!
