Have my medical coming up my bmi is 33.7 5ft 8 female atm but includes high percentage of muscle as I play high level of sport. Any one know is the bmi automatic fail or have I a chance?

Hi, if your BMI is over 30 but under 35 you'll get 3 months to bring it under 30. If it's over 35 it's an automatic fail. They can also use the hip/waist measurement to determine body fat but mainly they use BMI so I'd try your best to bring it under. It's very frustrating as the muscle almost goes against you for that! But that will come in handy for the physical ha. Best of luck!

Oh don't get me started ha ha. Such a slow and drawn out process!

I started this recruitment campaign with no grey hairs...I have plenty now over it lol. It's just out of our control. I even tried to be pro active as possible by contacting my two local districts because I'm in between two and still waiting to hear back to see if my file landed on a person's desk.

Have to meet with Sergeant/Super and do PCT. I'm still remaining optimistic for a start in November but my optimism is fading for each day passing and not hearing anything :(

    Still remaining hopeful.
I wish I could say the same I'm only 22 and near grey before it began haha :P

The papers are saying the Commissioner is off on holiday until September, so I guess there'll be no vetting signed off for the next while :pac:

Don't think it's the actual commissioner that signs them off. Think it's the people in the commissioners office that do it.

even if you do sport every week. train specifically for the beep test in an indoor area. did my pct in march on one of the hottest days at the time. The hall can get pretty stuffy in the heat and after aload of people do the test first. :)

Does HRM reply to emails or is a phone call needed to contact them?

Your better off ringing them as they are very busy with emails and might take a bit longer.

Yeah ringing them is far more effective

Everything on my part now done and dusted, vetting also completed, would it be safe to assume it's more or less a guarantee you get accepted for training or what else could prevent a person.

Someone asked the other day what life in Templemore was like when your training. I saw this link today on FB that gives a good overview from someone who was there last year
