Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

A bit soon for an injuries and suspensions thread I think but Ben Dinnery just tweeted:

Belgium FA confirm Eden Hazard has suffered a fractured ankle in training. Initial reports suggest he could miss between 2-3 months. #CFC

    - - - - - - - - -

Looks like he could miss the start of the season then.

Son Heung-min could miss the start of the season after suffering an injury playing for South Korea.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 42,164 ✭✭✭✭Scorpion Sting

The Korean FA suggested that Son's fractured arm recovery will take around a month, but ex-national team doctor Song Jun-Seop indicates it will be nearer to 12 weeks. #COYS

Pedro down after being absolutely clattered by Ospina. Hopefully he's ok

“We're referring Stanislas to another specialist," Howe told the B'mouth Echo. "I don’t know a timescale, it’s very difficult to say." #AFCB

    Can forget about him now

Have seen Milner in a few drafts so might be worth keeping an eye out for his progress...

    Who would deputise for Clyne?

Alexander Arnold or milner rb Robertson lb

Possibly Keita :-) At that price I expect him to be able to play competently in every position.

More than likely TAA I would think....Klopp seems to fancy him and he got some game time late last season iirc. Joe Gomez is floating around as well but will probably be loaned out

I'd be very surprised if it wasn't Alexander Arnold...could be gold dust at 4.5 as he has an attacking threat about him.

That's the kind of situation I'm looking for really.

"The injuries open up the door for two young full backs to stamp an impression on Jurgen Klopp’s plans. Trent Alexander-Arnold has been the starting right back in preseason even before Clyne’s issues. They are in a genuine battle for the first team starting berth. The latest injury setback for Clyne only goes to tip the scales further towards Alexander-Arnold."

TAA has scored a few for England under 19's too

TAA has played midfield a decent bit, is fairly handy going forward.

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

No Elliot for #NUFC vs Mainz this afternoon. The goalkeeper was missing due to illness. Yedlin was withdrawn as a precaution in the 1st half

Tony Pulis talks about the injury and fitness situation with Matt Phillips, James McClean and Chris Brunt: http://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/west-brom-injury-update-tony-13404875
"I don't think Brunty's is that serious but James McClean, we are worried about James," Pulis said. "It's round his knee and with the size of the squad at the moment, we don't want to pick up any injuries."

"Matt had a tight hamstring before the game, and we think that's something to do with his back. Matt is quite tight in his back at times so that was a precaution more than anything else."

It may be an idea to hold fire with West Brom assets at the start as their squad is going to be very weak with all these injuries.

    Yedlin is yellow flagged...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 48,254 ✭✭✭✭km79

@BenDinnery: Yedlin could be missing for up-to three weeks after damaging his hamstring. Manquillo is poised to make his competitive debut in GW1. #NUFC

Clyne will miss the start of the season. Klopp wasn't overly clear when he would be back but anyone looking at a GW3 or 4 WC might do worse than look at Alexander Arnold at 4.5m

    Ramsey on a yellow flag.

Have we any timeline on Danny Rose? Straight swap from Trippier to Bavies would be nice

Had Ramsey in my team since my first draft on the back of my notes from last season. My notes had the following in brackets - (if fit and available) which says everything.

Kieran Trippier to miss start of Tottenham's season with ankle injury.
Kieran Trippier fears he will miss the start of Tottenham Hotspur’s season as he waits to find out the full extent of the ankle injury he sustained in the club’s final pre-season friendly against Juventus.

Tottenham are waiting for swelling to go down before making a full diagnosis on Trippier’s injury, but the 26-year-old is not optimistic that he will be fit for the first Premier League game against Newcastle United on Sunday.

There remains concern that Trippier could be ruled out for a number of weeks, even though Tottenham were on Monday night hopeful that scans would not reveal a break once the swelling subsided.

Anyone seen any up to date information on Lanzini? FPL has him at 75% but can't remember reading anything on him.

If VVD and Yoshida are out, at what point do people begin to worry that the 'Southampton defence' isn't the 'Southampton defence'. And the same for WBA; if McAuley and Evans are out, what are we actually buying into? Fixtures and Tony Pulis respectively?

Most people are picking Saints defenders with the expectation VVD will leave. Great fixtures and a defense minded coach. Yoshida probably only a minor injury. As for WBA, I think the days of Pulisball are over. Quality of attacking football in league has improved greatly, and Pulisball has stayed Pulisball. Better looking elsewhere for cheap to mid priced defense I think.

Look I know there's a lot of Trump, Brexit, North Korea, fake news and general sense that the end of the world is near but....

...if we can't trust in fixtures and Tony Pulis then things are even worse than I thought!
