Quit smoking on Friday. Felt amazing...no cravings whatsoever, felt incredible yesterday in the gym, just so surprised by how I'm feeling.......til today when I realise I have a horrible sore throat, cough and cold.
I would like a spicebag and some wine please.

When I quit smoking I got a lung infection!
On discharge from hospital every single person I passed in the street had a fag in their gob. I thought the world was out to get me that day

I gave up for over a month and went back on them. Can't seem to give up again. The patches gave me sores on my skin as well. I do have to give up though, it costs too much money.
In saying that I didn't feel sick when I was off them.
    Very sad face 😔

Stick with it fussy onion :) you can do it. So glad I never got into smoking, you can tell a smoker by their skin and it smells manky. It'll be all worth it when you're smoke free :)

TA : people going away for stags and not being available to lavish attention on me

Anti-choice protesters lined up near Thomond Bridge with their enormous, full-colour photo posters of terminated foetuses, smiling at one another in satisfaction as a mother passes by with her young children trying to divert their attention from the graphic images. Not trivial really, but it annoyed/upset me.

It smells rotten and I was what you might call a paranoid smoker. I was extremely aware of my smoker's breath and how I smelled to people.
Constantly chewing gum and dousing myself in perfume which I know doesn't hide it well.

Not to mention the constant cough and stinking clothes and the cost!
Something has just clicked with me and I have zero desire to go back..

TA'd that I would love a Jaffa Cake now but we only have Rich Tea.

Meant to finally fly home Thursday, but I have a severe sinus infection and the GP isn't recommending flying. I'm distraught :(

Mulling something around in my head for the last few days and it's kind of smoking related also.

I want to make a change but undecided whether to do something small and totally change my hair (not that small I suppose) or something drastic and change my car.I've seen the car I want online but haven't gone to view it.What's putting me off is that the tax is just over 1k and I don't really do the mileage to justify it.Also it's a guzzler and I've been down that road before....but I'm a smoker and if I gave up it would more than cover the cost of the tax and petrol. One minute I'm saying life is short and go for it but then I'm thinking I should cop on and stick with what I have..I'll have no hair left to change at this rate as I'll have it pulled out.
TA at my inability to make decisions.

What I've been doing is ask myself WHY would I want a cigarette?

What are the pros and cons of smoking? There are more cons. You know it and I know it.

Now imagine how you'd feel if you treated yourself to the car you want.

I'm only off the cigs 2 days and the health benefits I'm experiencing ALREADY have floored me and have made me feel zero desire to go back smoking.

TA'd that I'm in bed and too lazy to go for a wee.

Putting the vast benefits of giving up smoking to one side for a minute, you may well find that changing the car to something more economic would pay for itself. I found an online cost comparison thing to help me compare the running costs of the current gas guzzler to the costs of borrowing to buy something more economical to run. It was the best decision I ever made.

Lower tax, lower fuel, less maintenance all saved more than the cost of a loan to buy the replacement.

Everyone is different. When I quit smoking it was new years day a few years back. I quit smoking, alcohol and chocolate on the same day with a view to having a super healthy month.
Oddly enough the chocolate urges were the hardest to deal with and consumed my thoughts much more than smoking.
After the healthy month was over I went on a big bender and had chocolate for breakfast. But no more smoking.

My TA is that I really could do with another month off the chocolate.

Went into a coffee shop within a large petrol station to get a coffee and asked the woman behind the counter "do you have soya or coconut milk?", we ran out earlier on she said, so as I'm walking out, I see both soya and coconut milk in the shop fridge. I went back to the counter and asked the woman if she could use either of them, she said no, we're on a different system.
Now, fair enough, not her fault, she just works there, but what a stupid system! Surely it makes sense to have all on the same system so they can share stock and not lose customers? This has happened 5 times now so I've given up now.
    Stupid.
    Need coffee.
    Rawr.

Couldn't you buy the soya milk yourself and ask her to make a coffee with that

People in garage shops who try to sell me all sorts of chocolate/crisps crap; 'Can I interest you in two of these for €1?' I'm perfectly capable of seeing that promotion without you pestering me, thank you very much. And of course you'd never, ever be pushing apples or bananas in any of these promotions! (we still have to search for the healthy food at the back of all these stores while the front shelves are plastered with sugar junk.) It's the unrestrained wild west out here of pushing crap foods on people at every turn.

Oh, and when I get a few euro back on a lottery ticket I do not want to "reinvest" that money in a lottery (the key is in that name!) ticket! Gobshítes.

Was driving round busy shopping centre carpark earlier, eventually saw an empty space. A couple and their toddler were unloading shopping into their car beside the the empty space. Their toddler was standing in the empty space I was trying to drive into. The father, who clearly saw me, stooped down to the toddler and I thought he was going to pick her up, but No - He was putting a sweet in her mouth. And then he put another sweet in her mouth, as I waited patiently to drive into the parking space. Eventually the toddler walked to the back of their car. Honestly, what is wrong with some people.

TA'd that I have no sense of smell or taste cos of this cold. I'm making home-made lasagne but I feel it's pointless when I can't taste it!

I'm getting real sick of this. I needed to get breakfast in one of those Topaz/ReStore yokes the other day. Can you not just have some brown bread or even just some bread or a scone or something? Who the f*ck decided breakfast means donuts or skanky pastry yokes?

There weren't even any bananas. Ended up with one of those nutri-grain bars which are very sugary and about as filling as a grape.

While I'm at it, you shouldn't be allowed claim your coffee is the best/simply great/ city-famous-for-it's-other-coffee-chain's finest when you know very well it isn't. It's just the cheapest coffee you could source, nothing more, nothing less. You lying sh*ts.
