Two pints of water before bed helps a great deal for the hangover.

TA by the most disgusting parent I've encountered in a long time.
This woman got on the train with her daughter and son. The son, who is 3/4, has literally been screaming since they got on the train. He's standing on the table kicking the window, kicking the seats, swinging out of the luggage rack, climbing under seats and over seats, screaming crying, just plain screaming, leaning over his seat on top of other passengers, screaming crying. He's walking up and down the carriage throwing his toys around, at people, at the windows and doors. The mother is ignoring him and looks like she'd cut you if you said something to her.
Do Irish rail not have an obligation to their passengers to ensure some comfort and safety on the train? There's "security" on the train but they're sitting in another carriage chatting.
Also, TA that the mother is ignoring both kids and the sister is basically playing mother to the brother while the mother chats on her phone.
Seriously, where do these people come from?

Edited to add - the "security" just walked up and down the train but all they care about is whether or not people are drinking alcohol (no alcohol allowed on this service) but that kid is swinging out of the luggage rack and standing on the table screaming. That's perfectly acceptable behaviour, but a passenger can't have an alcoholic beverage to drown out the screaming?

Beat post I've read in such a long time.

The other night a kid was reaching over the seat and grabbing my hair and that if the other passenger. The parent told ME off for swearing at her darling for saying "For f***s sake!!".

When I told her to keep an eye on her kid's behaviour she said "he's only playing lighten up".

How's it my job to entertain her brat ????

I don't know what crime you committed to deserve that, but its got to be considered a cruel and unusual punishment! :(

TA I'm smothered with a cold with a raw throat - but on the upside I sound extremely sexy.

Or maybe it's too much medication that has me thinking that...I'll salvage what I can from the situation and go with sounding sexy.

no . irish rail don't do obligations, they couldn't care a jot unfortunately. they de-staffed most of the trains years ago and anti-social behaviour has been on the rise since. it's a problem that will never be dealt with sadly.

yup. those security lads are just there to make it look like irish rail are taking problems seriously. in reality they are unable to do anything and are a get out to employing a staff member on the train who would have some bit of authority.
to be fair though, if i was in those security lad's situation i wouldn't be going after anyone who i thought was trouble either. it's not worth my life and chances are i wouldn't be paid enough to do it.

I'm very highly educated. I know words, i have the best words, nobody has better words then me.

A swimming pool with noisy children on a Sunday morning is the perfect way to ruin a hangover curing swim. :(
The fire alarm could have gone off an we wouldn't have been able to hear it.

I totally agree with the last part, there are large parts of society that are absolutely crazy and it would be a risky move to get involved. Imagine if they had made the woman leave the train? She would be on the front of the Irish independent tomorrow speaking about her ordeal and making out as if they were sitting there angelic, minding their own business, and probably also mention how she can't "get a house".

Putting up Christmas decorations, the ads and shows on TV portray it as a joyous, get all the family involved occasion.
The reality is a 5 yr old piling stuff on one side of the tree while the toddler wrecks everything so the place looks like a tornado has struck the gaff. Stress levels only coming down now.

I finished Homeland. I'm bereft, and a little disappointed at the finale. :(

Mr M says to start Breaking Bad, but just like I thought I wouldn't like Homeland because it's about terrorism, I think I won't like it because I don't like all these drug gangs related shenanigans. I guess I should really trust his judgement. :o
