I'm sorry but I find that comment truly appalling.

Both are obviously wrong, but if you can't acknowledge that to sexually abuse a child is a crime of much more gravity then I just don't know what to say...

I don't understand how you can say one rape is worse than another. Ffs. Can you not treat two different crimes with the same severity.

WE don't slaughter animals with just a slit throat.

per most of the suggestions above,

Beat the **** out of him, then call the cops and say i found him that way with the laptop open with bad stuff on it and now im doing my citizenly duty to report him.

There is plenty of evidence to show that the Gardaí will kick the $h!te out of anyone they arrest caught with child porn. Harm a woman and you will leave the station heavily bruised, harm a child and you will probably have something broken.

He has a good point. Rape isn't something that you get over easily if ever.

I literally can't believe that someone is trying to say that raping a child is not worse than raping a animal.

I'd be ashamed to say such a thing.

What you are essentially getting at is, you would report the child porn immediately but give someone a chance to explain away animal porn?

Edit: it is unnerving to hear someone wouldn't want any sexual crime punished as severely as possible.

actions against animals do not carry the same sanctions as against children, Thats a fact of life . Morally the arguments are all over the place as it depends on where you place animals in the scale of things

equating the two is not correct either.

That bacon was bred to be eaten. Not had sex with. Don't even TRY to compare eating meat to sexually abusing an animal. Animals can feel fear and pain too.
(I can hardly believe I'm asking this, but) how about animal porn containing consensual sex?

    Is that abuse?

A human can not have consensual sex with an animal

I didn't see the eels complaining in animal farm. You could even say they were mad for it.

Just wondering if you guys are joking or does this actually happen..Not up to date with sex crime stories in the country so....

I do remember prisoners once threw boiling water on a guy who killed a girl.

You make statement you end up in court with your friend . Maybe someone else accessed his computer.
Report him and you are been judge and jury right now.

Hand back the laptop and report them. I really REALLY cannot stand cruelty to children and animals. It fills me with rage. If they are not responsible let them prove it to the cops. If they are not responsible they are at least aware and haven't said anything and that is just as bad IMHO.

What have they banned in the uk

Spanking, whipping, name calling, physical restraint, pee, oral where the person receiving oral is on top, female ejaculation, choking and fisting.
So it's OK in the UK to see a man's juice but not a woman's?!

Have they actually banned types of porn? I though they just now required all porn sites to have age verification?

personally I would be inclined to do this. even if against my better judgement, unless its very clearly very illegal, you could end up begin dragged into the case ( he claims you placed it there etc )

do you want this hassle in your life.

remember no good deed goes unpunished

Lol, there are a lot of people lying in this thread.
Beating someone up because you found rape porn on their computer? Please, you wouldn't even have the guts to beat him up if he committed an actual rape.

Yes, although it depends on where you got it and whether you own it or streamed it.
Other acts banned included spanking beyond a gentle level, full bondage and restraint (in conjunction with a gag and all four limbs restrained) and - bizarrely - female ejaculation.

Abusive language during sex is now also banned, alongside depictions of non-consensual sex.

    http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/uk-porn-legislation-what-is-now-banned-under-new-government-laws-9898541.html

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

That which is to give light must endure burning. Viktor Frankl.

If you know a crime has possibly been committed and you don't report it then you are as guilty as the friend with the illegal images and those that produced them. Especially where child pornography is concerned.
