    Try Nova Launcher?

    That's what I'm using emmet.
May as well have a bigger bezel for a more finished look than a white bar across the bottom.
Has everyone else got it, yeah?

There's a few threads about it one the oneplus forums. Hopefully will be addressed in a future update. What was the nav bar like in the 5?

    I went from a 3 to the 5t so I don't know.
It's the only thing putting me off what is otherwise a great phone.
Is it bothering anyone else on here?

Btw: battery life is nearly twice as good as my 3 .
Going since 6 this morning and have still 41%.
My 3 would have died by now.

Didn't need to use it ;) OP5 has physical buttons. Enabled it there for a quick look though. Transparent on the Home screen, semi-transparent (shadow-style effect) in app drawer and black with white icons in apps themselves. That's on stock launcher

Just "On-screen navigation bar" enable/disable and "Swap buttons" enable/disable on OP5. Dunno about 5T

OnePlus are usually fairly responsive to feedback and I'm guessing it would be relatively easy to fix with an update.

From having the phone over a day I'm impressed with it. Moving from an LG V10 it's about the same size, but being bezel-less the screen feels massive on it. Display is lovely and crisp and I can't get over how quick it is, both to run, and to charge. From going to leaving my phone charging overnight to charging it to 100% last night and unplugging before bed was unusual haha. It's sitting on 48% now.

The fingerprint scanner is crazy responsive, and seated in just the right place I feel. Picking it up from say a desk, it opens automatically without even having to think to put my finger there. And being able to slide it up/down for notifications is neat.

A software update for the camera if it comes along with a google HDR+ port would be the icing on the cake. For €500 it's well worth it imo

There an option to hide when you are in other apps but then you have to swipe up to get it back so can use the buttons again.
There is also an option to have it transparent but when you go back to home screen it turns white again.
They could at least made it transparent on the home screen
    Looks terrible imo.

Maybe it's a big or something then?

That's a positive for me cause i'm coming from a 3 as well.

Following this since I use Nova too and that would bother me if there's a white line

Looks transparent on the Home screen in all online shots that I've seen. Guess that they're on stock though so may be a Nova issue

What about setting the app drawer to a grey colour to match the android bar until there is a fix?

This is my stock launcher and you're right it's transparent but no dock?
Is there an option to have a dock with stock launcher?
    Still rather have nova though.

Try holding down finger on blank part of home screen and dragging icons down to dock area?

    That's it yeah, thanks.
So, it does seem like an nova issue.

Although the white bar is present when using the keyboard with stock launcher.

Definitely Nova -although there's probably a Nova option to fix that in there somewhere. I installed Nova, but have stuck with OP5T default for now. It has it's plus-points.

Overall, I really like this phone. I'm somewhat underwhelmed by the "Basics Bundle" I bought with it though. Last night I went looking for my headphones and extra dash charger, but discovered in my rush to buy it was not part of the set.

The back that comes with the Basics bundle is pretty useless if you ask me. The front screen-guard is ok (although I need to re-seat shortly -third time lucky hopefully!) but the back is too rigid and slippery. I've gone back to the clear back that comes with the unit itself.

I had been looking for the silicone back when purchasing, but couldn't find it -either I was too panicked or it wasn't there. I will have to re-purchase on there soon and probably pick up an extra charger too ..maybe headphones. ...There should've been headphones in the pack though!

I don't like the stock launcher. Icons are too big. I set this up using Nova with scrollable bottom row and pop up folders in the top row.

I also have gesture shortcuts set up for Spotify, Hue App Camera and a few others.

Can anyone tell me what the icon between the Bluetooth and the alarm clock is?

It appeared on my OP5 after updating to the latest Oxygen OS.

    Thanks a million :D

You can customise the grids, icon sizes, install different icon packs, set gestures, etc. on the stock launcher too.

I like Nova, but I'm still trying the stock one -it's actually very good. There are 2 things that slightly "bother" me to date...

    1. I haven't been able to find how to move the homepage. I like my homepage to be "between" other screens -at least one on either side of it. So far, I can only have it as the first 'grid screen' to the right of the memo-type screen. (?)

    2. Making a phonecall shows favourites by default. This isn't bad -most of my calls would likely be to these people -but I need to press another button to bring up the numbers. Don't like that.

My HTC One M8 had numbers by default, with favourites available with 1 'screenswipe right'.
Samsung phones, I believe, have a numberpad with a scrollable list of favourites/ recents overhead.

Either of these is preferable. I don't think Nova gets around this though (?)

    Spot on, thanks!

The OS update must have activated it :)

My 5t is not seeing my 3 backup - don't fancy manually setting up. Could this be due to my 3 being on oreo and my 5t on Nougat?

If I press the phone icon it opens up my call list (most recent ins and outs) swipe right for list of contacts and swipe left for the favourites.

Yep same with mine also it did not see the OP3's Bluetooth, but funny it could see my red MI note 3 backup and bluetooth and they are not on Oreo ...?

In other news, had to order the OP flip case for 5T, I haven't put my SIM into it yet and I think I know why, I got the sandstone backed one but I like more protection in a case... suppose I just don't like the idea of my pocket lint making the screen... and as I can't ever wait for things like this I paid more than the case is worth to get it here by the 28th.

My op3 updates to Android 8 this morning.

My op5t arrived about an hour later.

Did anyone else have trouble getting apps and setting across to the op5t?

I have reset the op5t 5 times now and can not get the restore apps from back up device to show up at all.

I also can't do it manually from the Google app using Bluetooth.

I really can't be bothered installing all my apps again and logging into them.

Bought a 5T and flipcase for my young lad as his OPX was regularly giving problems with recognizing the sim card.

Anyway he is not impressed with the flip case as the phone is so thin the case makes it very difficult to operate the volume rocker....

I'm afraid this is exactly what you're going to have to do. Same thing happened to me and after a bit of Googling it seems that you can't use a backup from a newer version of Android on a phone running an older one. Trust oneplus to update the 3 before the 5t :(

    It's almost like op knew!

I just did it all manually in the end, pain but it's done now.

It was a good opportunity for a spring clean - the amount of sh*te apps I'd accumulated was unreal!
