    Seems like the clutch master cylinder by sounds of it you wouldn't think that would fail after little milage though

    think that was it - i bought mine brand new in july and problems started in Oct. Just checked emails - they replaced the master cylinder and the clutch pedal position switch.

    And where you getting the symptoms I mentioned ? His gears are just stiff through the leaver sometimes it's smooth sometimes leaver gets really tight you can feel it dragging into gear but there's no sounds coming from the gearbox or anything

    Yep - pretty much that - gears stiffened up and eventually could not move gears. Only way to change gears was to switch car off -push down clutch and put it into gear that way. I drove for about a mile in 2nd gear to get it somewhere safe!!
