You are perhaps lucky you have not needed parts or had problems, that appears to be the issue, i have no issue with anything else.

    Dacia are owned by Renault, and built in Romania, so that wouldn't inspire confidence to begin with. The fact that Renault are involved ensures that there is high levels of incompetence and stupidity involved. Romanian build quality wouldn't inspire confidence either and after a recent trip there they really are the poor mans cousin of Europe.

    The French have never manufactured any car which wasn't just an absolute nightmare junkbox of trouble. Peugeot, Citroen and Renault should be avoided at all costs and Dacia as the contaminated cousin of Renault also.

    People used to laugh at Skoda but they have the superior genes of VW behind them, Dacia is similar but instead involving Renault and the results are cheap, woeful and unreliable.

    Yeah - driving it alright but my wife won't drive it coz she's afraid it'll break down again. I have it up for sale but still pushing dacia to do something - what they will do I don't know!!

    Did you even read the post in the first place? The issue is parts supply of a door because of a crash. The car didn't break down.

    Absolutely not acceptable, this is a 20k investment not a no frills 50e flight to manchester. Equally i am not expecting next day parts, any day will do, even a couple of weeks would be manageable, but absolutely no idea whatsover is beyond a joke. If you stayed in a travel lodge and couldn't sleep in the bed because it broke i am pretty sure they would address, budget or not as its their core service, i would not expect a four poster super dupper high quality bed but i would expect a bed, hence, i expect parts for a dacia in a timely and reasonable fashion irrespective of the original cost of the car.

    You get the "we have no idea when the parts will be available maybe a week or two but don't promise anything" from all brands from time to time. I had it in the past while working I parts from a few different ones. Sometimes you get lucky and it's not something that keeps the car off the road.

    I understand that but perhaps you missed original post, one person is waiting on the part i am waiting on since March, it is now June and no sign of it, so how long i will be waiting on the part is a mystery and not acceptable in my view.

The technology cutbacks worked to the cars advantage but there has to be compromises in customer experience too.

    As a consumer you have to ask yourself when spending your own money, how is this product so much cheaper than the competition.

    I can't say I agree TFB. Parts should be readily available regardless of whether it's a budget car or not.

    I agree with that, parts should be readily available to as reasonable an extent as possible but I think that if there is a supply issue from a manufacturer who markets themselves as "budget" you have to understand when their complaints dept give less of a toss than you would expect.

    Have you paid for the part or just checked availability? If youve paid and you are waiting 8+ weeks then thats less than ideal. If youve just checked availability, they may have no intention to produce more until soneone orders one up front.

    Isn't there an EU set regulation where they have to reproduce spares for at least 8(?) years or have I completely imagined that?

    The Duster is out 7 years at this stage, parts supply issues are a joke. It it was launched last month then fair enough.

    Parts supply issues are a joke, yeah. But when dealing with quite possibly the cheapest supplier of new cars in Europe, wouldn't you expect some aspects of their business to be a bit lacking in order to facilitate the cost saving?

    Now I'm not saying that you have to buy one of their cars in the expectation that you won't be able to get parts when you need them but when **** does go wrong, when you've bought the cheapest do you have a strong arguement to expect much better?

    Honestly, I'm not sure either way and in not even a Dacia hater.

    Actually producing a car isn't that expensive, it's the engineering, R&D and design that cost a lot.

    A parts supply chain should be able to pay for itself. Even very low volume brands like daihatsu managed to have functioning parts systems here.

    Hi - it's been fine since - I've had no issues with the car. They at the time said they had never seen this before so not sure how common it is.

    Took 3 visits and the car cutting out on me driving before it was fixed properly - I can send you the invoices I got for the work if he isn't getting anywhere - might show them what's needed.

    I still have the car but wouldn't get another one - very boring!!! But I knew that when i was getting it.

    Could you pm me them if you don't mind if it's ok with you i will show him he's is very sticky and notchy going into gear gearbox isint making any noises .. I have one myself also 2014 model mine is running beautifully no major problems besides wear and tear items like tyres brakes etc..
