I'd prefer to keep names out of it.
Still could prove to be a sensitive issue.
    Thanks

Can you confront him and let us know the outcome. I hope he doubles down and blames the chip timing etc.

    Ok -update

I hadn't been in the pub since last Thusday(20th) and had picked up on a lot of this through chats with friends there.

I m not a big better = but enjoy Cheltenham and Punchestown

So dropped down to the pub at 4.15 today( I'm retired) to watch the 4.20 and put a 2 euro bet on -on the mobile. I was the only one there( apart from the barman).

Was watching the racing when the door behind me opened - and I heard the barman say- 'The usual D...?'
    Answer: 'Yes'.

    Didn't turn around.

A few seconds later a voice...'By the way Brian I did it!'

I turned round and pleading ignorance said :

    'You did what??'

I ran the 10k in less than 40minuts? .'Think you owe me?'

'Oh really- what time did you do??

    '37.23'

'What type of a ****ing clown do you take me for?? Says I

'I have it here on this printout' he says pulling out a chart from his pocket.

'That's funny' says I 'just checked the official listing an hour ago and your name/time is not listed.'

I had brought my ipad( clearer than an iphone) with me and went over to his side.

'Let's just check the finishers around the 38 minute mark...

'Hey no sign of your name or number!?

Him:' There must be some mistake' says he- reality dawning.

Me: ' Yes there was.. Taking me for a ****ing fool'.

'I know you started 18 minutes after the 'elites ' so you are saying you passed 4500 runners along the way- and by happy coincidence also avoided the 9k chip sensor- which is an unavoidable wide gantry.?

    'Bottom line- you cheated'

He knocked down his pint and stormed out

Pity there wasn't a crowd in the pub to witness it

Get them to send you the disqualification list and pin it behind the bar.

If he had bothered his hole to hop in at 8.9k he'd have pulled it off. Obviously too much of a fat b*sta** to walk the extra few hundred metres.

He'd have had to run the last km at a faster pace than he's capable of though.

Love the idea of pinning the dq behind the bar.
