Link about armed robbery gone wrong? Reading sky news right now and they say it was a deliberate attack on two police officers by a known criminal

Do people not read the linked articles any more and just read the titles before jumping in?

However three police sources said that the shooting could have been an attempt at an armed robbery.

AP: French anti-terrorist prosecutors have opened an investigation, confirming that the motive is believed to have been terrorism, and the attacker was known to the intelligence services, security sources said. They added that he had been flagged as a serious threat to national security.

Official statement has said the assailant pulled up in a car, got out, and opened fire on heavily armed officers. Which unless he was very disappointed with his haul from the robbery is not very bank robber- esque behavior.

You must be devastated the French didn't go to the Merkel Media School.

Ah "known to intelligence agencies" again.

What exactly does that have to do with reading something RTÉ has said, stating 3 French police sources have said...?

We are at the beginning of a very long battle with these people. They are among us and we haven't got the political will to rid the continent of these savages. Le Pen could change all that, we will see.

Because I find it bizarre that people with left wing opinions

a- hope upon hope it isn't anything to do with radical Islam so they can finger wag and get some sort of told you so over the rest of us

    and

b- refuse to apply critical thinking. An inability to ask yourself just how unlikely it would be that somebody would pull an armed robbery on the Champs Elysee during election season in what must be the biggest security clampdown since the Euros last summer.

If she is going to do that she'll have to win the election, rid the higher French courts of all Left Wing judges and pull France out of the EU and ECHR.

    To start.

That won't be easy to do.

The Intelligence community are very hot on bank robbers these days. Seeing as how crap they were on terrorists, it's only right they aim for easier prey.

And again... You haven't exactly said what any of this has to do with reading what RTÉ have said police sources have claimed...?

Why not? It happened in Sweden. What did they ever do the Islamic world?

Must be right-wing English nationalists again. The Guardian told me they're the real danger.

RTE as your source? Lol. You need to lift the head lad. Most Boneyarsedbogmen are fairly copped on. Do you only get to foot the turf?

They have taken in considerable numbers of refugees , we have not , Sweden also has long standing assimilation issues and ghettoisation of certain immigrants

its not all peachy in that socialist wonderland

disclaimer : worked there some years ago

    why

Because the society that these people want and Irish society are like chalk and cheese. Ireland has hundreds of 'jihadis' within its borders, literally.Ireland had the second highest number of citizens to travel to fight in Syria out all EU countries. If it can happen to a country thats not interfering with war in Syria or ME such as Sweden then why would you think Ireland is immune from this occurring? Theres nothing stop a lone wolf attack here, which can be extremely devastating ( such as in Nice)

A highly coordinated attack such as in Paris in 2015 is extremely unlikely in Ireland though

You're preaching to the choir when it comes to the multicultural utopia of Sweden...my point is, if a county that worships Muslim migrants as much as Sweden can still get Trucked, then what's to say it won't happen here?

Mod: There's two threads open on this and merging them will cause some very strange nesting I suspect, so I'm closing this one as the other was started first (albeit by one minute!).
