Is Farrell ready for such big contests? 80 mins? Consecutive weekends? After such a long injury lay off and a few recent scares?

Should Farrell be eased back in?

Probably, but this is essentially a knockout rugby match in Munster's biggest competition. We can't afford to rest him if he's fit enough to start he should play even if it's just 40 minutes.

If we lose tonight we're not mathematically out, but our campaign will be hanging by a thread.

Dan Goggin seems to have moved ahead of him. To be fair, he's been playing very well.

And, Arnold has been pretty quiet / poor when compared to last year.

Munster should make hay against that Gloucester side.
    No excuses!
They should be capable of winning the tight exchanges.
They also have a better bench, comfortable better imo.
    Munster by 10.

Munster A get another try, Neil Cronin breaks from the back of a maul, defence all over the shop, easy run in.

I missed the last try but it looked like a length of a field try.

Relatively soft one tbh. Leinster reclaimed the restart after the Munster try. Made 2 line breaks up the middle, some decent offloading and they were in. The game was up at that stage though anyway.

Hmmmm, a popped rib for POM. Only downside from that game really.

I’d imagine it’s a tough one to judge the healing time on.

4 to 6 weeks normally, or for POM he's due back Monday

Wycherley to bench if POM out.

Think Holland showed why he was next in line tonight, fine game off the bench out of his traditional position

He played secondrow. Beirne shifted to 6.

Apologies if already covered but longer term view of tournament, would Munster not be better being 5th seed, playing away to Edinburgh possibly with a good chance of a home semi?

Money from home quarter final and better chance of getting into semi is probably more preferable.

That rule has changed. It doesn't matter if you win an away QF. The highest seeds get the semi final in their home nation. It's almost certainly Saracens and Racing.

You could put Wycherley at 6 in a straight swap with POM.

Deysel played on for something like 50 minutes with broken ribs for Munster against sarries in Dublin.
He is a freak to be fair, hopefully PoM is good to go for England. I think Wycherley to start at 6 next week. Billy's experience off the bench for the last 20/30 mins is very beneficial.

I think it'll be Billy to start, Beirne to 6 or Botha to 6. Suspect Wycherley will be bench either way.

Would love to see him start. If Exeter have nothing to play for you could well see him

Gotta be very happy with that performance on Friday night, I know the naysayers will say t'was only Gloucester and it was but that was close to being flawless from us the only real negative was POM's injury.

As much as I admire Wycherley I think Billy Holland still has a lot to offer Munster rugby and he'll get the nod again next week.

His offload to Earls and then the guiding hand to Earls as scored his try was just something that you come to expect from Holland.

We'll be lucky to get a home QF as I think Edinburgh will win next week but we have to win next win then play the cards that are dealt to us for the knockout games.

I'm one of those naysayers. I give Munster full credit for perfect execution and a complete performance.

But some of the lads here claiming that Munster are back and Carbery should start against England need to be realistic. Gloucester are poor and battered by injuries. Munster did exactly what was expected of them and can't be knocked for beating the only opposition in front of them.

A home quarter final for Munster would be massive.

Guess a Montpellier win v Edinburgh would get us a home qf, but don't think Munster would fear away qf either. Edinburgh on good run of form currently. Presume Edinburgh qf would be in Murrayfield and there wouldn't be any issues getting tickets?

Its a pity that Munster are unlikely to get the home-quarter final. It all goes back to the Castres game where Barnes chose to ignore so many dangerous incidents. Big loss for the local economy.
