I must have watched this movie 100 times when I was in my teens. I know every line of dialogue in it, and have definitely seen it too many times, but I love the last scene, it always gets me. I just loved the message in it of love growing over time, and loving someone despite, and even for, their quirks.

One other one. I posted a scene from superman 2 already, but how could I forget the greatest superman scene, the opening of the first one. It's a dated movie that i've seen umpteen times, but the combination of the music, and those whooshing credits still puts my hairs on end. I go to youtube and watch it any time I need a lift :)

    United 93 (2006)

It may not be historically accurate (conspiracy theories and whatnot)...but the music along with the fighting scene is just truly powerful.

I don't think I've ever seen anything similar to this beautifully created ending.

Dr Strangelove is a fantastic movie throughout but the war room scene is my favourite

You're talking about mass murder, General, not war!

Mr. President, I'm not saying we wouldn't get our hair mussed. But I do say no more than ten to twenty million killed, tops. Uh, depending on the breaks.

the scene where they drop the bomb is amazing too, but you could fill this entire thread with amazing scenes from Kubrick films,

Batman Begins, the rooftop, the new villain mentioned, the music, the reveal. One of the only times I got really loud in the cinema.

I've also got a special place for the Duke's motivating speech in Rocky Balboa, before the trumpets kick in and the montage starts. As a kid who loved Rocky movies even though I was watching them in the 90s, I loved hearing and seeing it in a cinema like my Dad had.

I agree about Duke's speech - " let's build some hurting bombs"! Best scene in the movie.

Star Trek - Wrath of Khan, pretty much every scene with Ricardo Montalban but the death of Spock gets me every time. That final weak "no" from Kirk.

Star Trek V - So many funny scenes.

Rambo First Blood. All of it - just love it!

I've watched The Lost Boys about a million times. The end scene where they take out each vampire one by one is good or when they go back on the motorbikes to the cave and make Michael "one of us" :)

I was about 10 when I first watched it and had a huge crush on Corey Haim. Then when I watched it again a few years later, I fancied the older brother played by Jason Patrick! I was thinking how did I not notice him before :pac:

Just after watching 'The last of the Mohicans' for no idea how many times.
What films have u seen but you'll watch just for 'that part'

Last of the Mohicans, but "my" scene is the ambush on the large British column. I like it for the popping of the muskets that starts slowly and increases in intensity, and the associated black powder smoke that appears in isolated puffs but gradually fills the clearing.

Lawrence of Arabia. The opening desert scenes where Lawrence travels to Prince Faisal's camp and the raid on Aqaba.

Likewise. Particularly the gradual appearance through the heat haze of Omar Sharif in the well scene.

    Others of mine...

The Thin Red Line - for the quieter moments of the attack on the hill. Something about the sun and shadows moving across the long wind-blown grass. You can almost feel the breeze on your cheek an the heat on your skin when the sun comes out. The small-team assault against the MG position is well done too. I'm not a fan of most movie music, in fact I think there's far too much of it, but the music accompanying that desperate action was perfect.

Glengarry Glen Ross - for Al Pacino's rant at Kevin Spacey.

A Bridge too Far - XXX Corps opening artillery bombardment. The explosions are impressive and well done...and the ring of ejected brass shell cases is almost musical.

Wyatt Earp - for the gunfight. Very accurately portrayed...except (perhaps) for who started it, but that jury will always be out.

Gettysburg - the fight for Little Round Top.

Saturday Night Fever - for the Night Fever dance scene (the girl in the red dress, specifically :) ).

Waterloo - the panning shots of the armies lined up before the battle. Reasonably historically accurate positioning too.

Julius Caesar - Mark Antony's speech (Brando). Perfect delivery as he plays the crowd like a fiddle.

Aliens - Bill Paxton's playacting during the descent to the planet.

The Changeling (1980) - for the seance, and spine-chilling post-seance reveal.

...and some already mentioned by other posters.

I tried to think of one for the Duelists, but that whole movie is just one beautiful-looking scene after another.

OK, seeing as none of the rest of you are forthcoming enough, I will bravely say that I've seen the "love scene" in Blue is the Warmest Colour a few times at this stage.

I've always loved this scene from Witness where Harrison Ford has been trying to fix the car and then the radio comes on.

From the same film, after Lecktor phishes Graham's home address from his prison cell. He just stares into the distance like a complete and utter psychopath.

What about the car chase scene in Ronin with de Niro?

In fact u could also throw in the car chase in the mini in that Bourne movie

Stand by Me. There's too many scenes that are brilliant but the one when there's a train coming and they are legging it down the tracks. Oh the suspense every time

I've watched Shrek so many times I've lost count, but I'd watch it all over again just for the Muffin Man scene.
