Ulrika's lamb was horrendous, she was very lucky to be left in.

    Ulrika needs to calm down.

Taped this last night and watching now when I can't sleep.

Lesley Garrett is driving me nuts bursting into song.

Is it just me or does John Torode fancy Ulrika? He's all over her. Not a coincidence that she is quite like his real life gf Lisa Faulkner...that he met on Masterchef!

Definitely think he's a bit biased towards Ulrika!
That peach dessert would have been criticised as too simple - was it Debbie Magee who did a simple dessert in one round and she was criticised for not making an effort?

Lesley is irritating as hell but she deserved to go through.

My god, Nick's work station was a mess!

Did someone not try to do a chilli in one of the lunch services recently and was told it was too basic and simple?

Just caught up on the first one now....

Gawd Lesley Garrett is seriously annoying. And is also the absolute spitting image of an aunt of mine, it's quite unnerving!

Ulrika is taking this FAR too seriously, she'll have a nervous breakdown if she's not careful. Was it my hearing, or did they all keep calling her Eureka at the start?

The contrast between her and the Blue Peter fella (I'm crap at remembering names) was stark, he was smiling and making the most of it all and just enjoying the experience, she was like she was being tortured or something.

And did anyone else notice that the actor fella kept slamming the door in Ulrika's face (or at least not holding it open for her) as they walked into the kitchen? Shocking manners! She looked quite stunned the first time it happened! :D

Ulrika's lamb dish was a shocker in fairness, she was very lucky to be put through after that!

It only happened once from what I saw, and I'd say it was the weight of the doors rather than intentional. Remember who was behind her giggling as I'd say it was unexpected alright.

The first time it happened whoever was in front held the door for him and he just sailed through and it nearly hit Ulrika in the face, second time it wasn't quite so obvious but he also just let it close back into her - I was gobsmacked tbh! (but holding doors for others is something I would be quite particular about).

Catching up on Friday's show now, Ulrika still giving me palpitations with her stress levels!

Ah, fecks sake.... the two (intensely irritating) women through, the two (utterly likeable) men rejected. Bah.

Quote of the week from Nick "that puts me in the anals of Masterchef"

Have never taken to Ulrika over the years no matter what programme she was on - can't explain why! Leslie is getting on my proverbials - shut up and do what you are supposed to be doing!

    Nobody watching this week???

I'm catching up now - this week's victims contestants are a tad less than inspiring!

    First round - all disastrous.

Second round, pro kitchen - they all seemed to struggle. That Indian chef seriously needs to learn some manners, surprised he didn't get a box from someone the way he was roaring and shouting at them!

Patti had serious delusions of her cooking skills..... tuna with pitta and creme fraiche for the final round, seriously??? Even I'd do better than that. Don't think she'll be much loss to the series!

On the Friday skills test - wtf is John going with his tempura batter skills test? That's as far as I've got as I type.... I cannot wait to see what they make of that (or not)!!

Some very good contestants this week, and some very bad ones. You won't believe who goes through #watchbait

Gawd, all that fake drama for the mass catering bit has got old already....

    - these are the busiest/brainiest/most important people ON EARTH, it's VITAL that they're fed on time
    - at 12pm they all gather en masse outside locked doors waiting to be let in
    - the restaurant/canteen usually serves AMAZING food so they're expecting a really high standard
    - etc etc etc

First dish featured was a lump of baked fish and some sweet potato mash.... not a veg in sight! How in the name of whatever could that taste "really healthy"

only got around to watching wed nights show last night - the rev can cook for sure.. no one else stood out to me.. apart from the lady with the tinned tuna - gee how did she get onto the show?

I don't like the part when they go to the restaurant for the lunch service challenge - don't really see the point in it .. anyone else feel that?

    Semi-finals week!

And oh gawd, I'd (almost) forgotten about Leslie Garrett.....

John not impressed with the stuffed breast of chicken idea.

John not impressed with the stuffed breast of chicken idea.

I think it was more the fact that they'd only managed to get as far as "maybe a breast of chicken.... maybe.... stuffed with.... something..maybe....."

    Talk about indecision city!!

Is there any chance someone might accidentally knock Leslie off the end of the pier?

    Ummmm, that chicken looks FAB!

So does Becky think that by turning her burnt toffee pudding upside down it will taste less burnt somehow?
