horrible day here, hard to believe its 10C, feels much colder. Damp, windy and wet all day, not a day to be outside at all.

GFS has windespread snow from a westerly later in the week. Needless to say it's not backed up by other models.

And needless to say it's not needed!

Still deluging and blowing up here after as wild and wet a night as any this year.

Ground around the cottage is waterlogged and the far bank of the stream is flooded over. And still raining and blowing.

The lane is a stream all by itself.

    West Connemara 400 ft asl.

Strong wind potential for Mon morning has shifted well off the NW Coast in the latest runs.

Evelyn was quite sure of a severe frost for this coming Tuesday night, saying it will be below zero everywhere.

Had an almost complete frost drought here since November, so one last final hard one wouldn't be the worst thing.

    The poor grass though!

I think they're going a bit overboard with the minimum temperatures there. Tuesday night will be cold though.

Meanwhile, the final week of March after a northerly wind from Wednesday-Friday, is looking very settled, warm and sunny. Looking like a very good spell of weather towards the end of the month starting next weekend. Let's hope it happens.

todays BBC forecast is showing sleet and snow showers for here, even in eastern areas tomorrow night and into Tuesday, I doubt it will be cold enough for that but it is going to feel quite chilly for 5 days. A shock to the system for many, hopefully it will be dryer with less in the way of showers.

Next weekend onwards is looking decent with settled and milder conditions.

The wind has been buffeting the cottage much of the night and is loud now .

From this weekend coming (25th/26th) to the 29th, it is looking absolutely wonderful with a stubborn high pressure of 1035mb set to build right over the country bringing warm days and cold nights along with plenty of sunshine.

Also, today has been a beautiful day with plenty of blue skies here though the wind made it feel cold.
