    The Gibneys stout ain't bad!

How are those clouds looking out there now? Suddenly got quite grey here in city centre and looks like we'll get some rain.

Can’t afford drops. That was a decent chance

Damn, that chance had to be taken

You can follow the rainfall here https://www.met.ie/, maybe 2-3 hours away, but weakening

Yeah it's looking dark enough to the south, bright either side of the dark stuff so might get away with it. No sign of rain yet anyway.

Way too many runs going away at the moment, no pressure being built. Last 10 overs 49 runs

Leaky bowling but sure hasn't that often been our achilles heel? Pak cruising now?

A pair and a crucial drop. The harsh reality of test cricket. Balbirnie won't remember the historic occasion too fondly!

The rest of thew team can hold their heads high. Murtagh, K O Brien, Thompson fantastic. Really proud of the performance the guys have put in.

Azam has scored about half his runs down the legside, that's not on in this kind of situation, at least keep it to the offside where all the fielders are. Cruising is right, a boundary every over

Ultimately a great effort and it's difficult to complain. But the chance was definitely there today.

Yeah, we really needed to manage a bit longer at the crease this morning. Still a great game to follow, lots of ups and downs :)

We've been bowling much better since the runout

Lost by 5 wickets, 130 all out was the difference

Was three hours of rain in four days too much to ask for in Ireland in May? Oh well, more interesting than it looked like it was going to be.
    Any more tests planned?

Good end result for Ireland all things considered I think. Some good batting displays, while Murtagh looked very dangerous with the ball, and his economy was good.

On a personal level, happy I was there for 2 days out of 4 (3 if you count Friday) despite the result. Hope to see more Test cricket at Malahide before the move to Abbottstown.

There were rumours a while ago that CI and the ECB were in talks for a Test at Lord's? That would be something else.

England are no help whatsoever to Ireland, complete opposite actually. If they were forced to play a test, they would probably hold it on an out ground

and then the rain on the drive home.

But Pakistan settled in after the 3rd wicket taken and showed their class. So fair enough, strong debut for Ireland.

Possible tour in Pakistan this winter.

They would be better playing the likes of the Windies or Bangladesh next to gain some more experience.

Next home test is supposed to be Australia next summer, is that confirmed?

I went along to the afternoon session today. As suspected, Ireland were about 50 short of making it a real game. It was still great to be able to watch some test cricket in Dublin though, never thought I'd see the day :)
