Hank, you think he handled the Pres conference well? You think he came out of it better than he went in with a message to all the US of confidence for the future?

Come off it. When the very next question he takes is from the white supremacist site Breitbart, asking him how he's going to clamp down on the media, it's clear where Trump is going.

The liberal media will say he didn't probably, his supporters will say they don't care what the media says about him anymore. Any respect or faith in them went down the pooper during the election.

I don't think about if he comes out looking better or worse, all that matters is what he acts on once he gets into office, that is the time to judge. If he messes up healthcare or whatever for e.g. then people should rightfully slay him, but now it's just all fear mongering.

do you believe that he wasnt mocking the disabled reporter? that it is just coincidence that he happened to make the same arm moves as the disabled reporter?

    Yes.

    Is Marco Rubio disabled?

    EXACTLY the same gestures.

Trup is mocking backwheeling spoofers caught spoofing, nothing more.

Every liberal is in uproar, his press conference was so entertaining. Trump should have got some black shades and said deal with it.

Hold on, our people not capable of making their own minds up. Are you not able to? I asked you a question, why are you invoking the liberal media. I do note however, that you didn't say it did, just that others might say he didn't. Hardly a ringing endoresement

The whole thing was live, people can watch it without resorting to any commentary from MSM or whomever.

That his supporters don't care is staggering. They elected a man to lead the country and he can't even handle a press conference that should have been all about what he was going to achieve, what every person in the US could look forward to.

Face it, this is the easiest the press conferences are ever going to be simply because there should be nothing negative to discuss. People want a fresh start, people want real hope. Do you think he gave them that? I don't. I took from it a man that seems more focused on himself that caring out the country.

And he is effectively in office now, he has started to make policy in terms of Ford and Fiat. You think he is suddenly going to change on the 20th.

As he said himself when asked about his tax returns, why would I, I won!

I've never seen the N word in comments or anything promoting white supremacy on Breitbart. not once have I seen a comment like that since I've visited it on and off over the last year or so. If you want to find the real alt right you'll find them on 4chan or stormfront, not in the press office.

Besides that, didn't Trump answer a lot of questions? CNN don't have a privilege, they need to learn that.

Please stop with this "frightening" narrative. It makes me want to puke honestly.

He didn't lose his cool, the guy who wasn't called wouldn't shut up, Trump spent 30 seconds telling him to be quiet before labeling him fake news. Reporters seem to believe the idea they are just as important as Trump is, it shouldn't be like that, and it won't be for much longer.

The CNN story was clearly political, it was created the night before the press conference. Trump knows they were colluding against him all campaign. What do you want the guy to do, bend over and take it in the ass?

I'm all for free press but I don't blame Trump one iota here. He's laying a marker. It will all be forgotten about next week.

Worrying better? If he keeps it up it is frightening and we don't have much data to go on (largely due to Trump himself). Trump has put himself into this mess. I expect him to get himself out.

If he kept his cool why did he call them fake news? (Before talking to breitbart ffs). If he was thinking clearly he would let them have their question and used it to show off his question. Instead he ran away scared from whst everyone knew was going to be a tough question to one people knew was a gimme. I sincerely doubt the decision to blank out cnn was anything but off the cuff.

Yes he shut down access to the main part of the press conference (asking questions) to cnn. He made a show of cutting them out.

The only marker people will read into this is agree with Trump or he will try and cut you out.

Trump made the claim of fake news when shutting them out. Not colluding so that is what has to defended (and he went next to network he worked with next so would not have looked any better).

I have pointed out how Obama would have dealt with it.

You can't lay a marker that will be forgotten about in a week. Pick one

    No, it'll get easier.

Either CNN, ABC, NBC, Buzzfeed, the BBC etc etc stop asking awkward questions or they'll get no access, so eventually it'll be just Brietbart and Fox telling him he's great with his staff clapping and hooting after every answer.

Dignified, unifying, inspirational, eloquent, informed, decisive, diplomatic. These are the qualities the US needs from their president as a statesman. I remain wholly convinced that The Donald will transform from being an egotistical, rude, ignorant, bankrupt dumbass into the presidential statesman that we all know he can be. Wholly convinced I am.

Here's reality if you want feedback on his press conference. Visit a site like Vox and I guarantee they've slayed him( like they do everyday ). Visit a site like Breitbart and they'll say he owned the conference( like they do everyday ). Visit MSNBC they'll say his conference brings up some worrying questions, visit Fox news and they''ll say he handled it well and have a giggle about the fake news jab. Everyones ideology is directly based on their political leaning. I for one was happy he jabbed at CNN, I found the media collusion over the election campaign disgusting and most of them got away scott free.

So what were the options. Both candidates were flawed, one was politically corrupt the other a loudmouth.

He's more than a loudmouth. He's tearing up all the rule books regarding ethics and appropriate behaviour. That's fine I hear you say, but think on this; who will be writing the new rules?

People overestimate the influence of the US President. Obama came to the UK to lecture on Brexit, no one listened to him. I think most of the world switched off on Obama 5 years ago. The hysteria with Trump will eventually fade, people will get used to it.

    And you know that how?

The fact is you don't and you're creating a narrative. You have no idea how Obama would respond if he was colluded against all campaign by a certain network( in trumps case almost all of them), then for his first major pre inauguration press conference, the same network post a story with sensationalist headline containing inaccurate statements to slander him, which in turn leads to some garbage sites believing the report was worth releasing.

Would Obama have just said Okie Doke to the reporter and got on with it? Sorry can't take your word for that.

Every time he speaks, the Press report "He's still the same as he was during the campaign!" as if it's news, as if he wasn't his own narcissistic, boorish, vulgar, crass self all the way along.

He wasn't acting like that as a strategy - that's who he is. He is not suddenly going to turn into someone else because he won - he is going to be the most boorish, crass and vulgar president ever. Bigly.

It also helps if the president is qualified for the role.
There is no argument at all that he is in no way qualified for the role.

Exactly. What you see is what you get and not a lot of his supporters have realised this. The damage he has already done to the office of President is nothing compared to what he is going to do. With commensurate damage to politics, international relations, national unity etc.

Unless being a rich kid failed businessman celebrity with no political experience is what is required, If so, then he is eminently qualified.

The people will come together as Trump said. His aim will be to bring unity and make America great again.

I don't think anyone ever said that the US has control over the voters in another western democracy. So really your point is a bit stupid. Unless you think Trump could come over here and tell everyone who to vote for and we'd actually obey him.

Yankees think they have more influence than they do, the President is no different.

Have you so little self-respect that you wouldn't publish your tax returns for 20 years? You were so incompetent that after your dodgy billionaire father set you up in business with a large loan he subsequently had to bail you out?

He's a failed rich kid 'businessman' with a sensitive ego. Let's see how that works out for the US economy.

He's used loopholes in the law to avoid taxes and admitted doing so. That's common knowledge almost. Yes he should release them ( He won't )

The CNN reporter was rude to Trump. He seemed to have no respect for who he was in the presence of. I think he should apologise to Trump personally for his absolutely disgraceful actions at the press conference. Trump did not become the leader of America to get spoken to like that.

Oh, I think they do. They love it. See all they twitter accounts giving him a big Booyah for telling CNN to go screw themselves at a press conference.

Let's take a step back for a moment. The US has knowingly elected a person who hasn't released his tax returns for 20 years and who is proud of that fact. What message does that send to the US public?

Should the soon to be leader of the free world not resort to playground tactics and instead, suck it up and answer a question like an adult would?

Paying taxes is for chumps and losers.

But his supporters already believe that.
