9 tries last week between these two sides, expect another open game today. Clermont never lose at home, Ulster will have to attack attack attack and see what happens. A LBP would be a great result for Ulster.

As usual Ulster can mix it with the best behind the scrum, up front their starting pack is competitive, but the bench is a bit short. A huge effort is requrired here.

Les Kiss needs to sort this defense

Good try from Benders there. You know Ulster are in trouble when they don't even have the best South African born player!

Could Sky please stop referencing the fecking Lions everytime someone who qualifies for them does something well!!!

Why is our defence getting caught so tight.

    That's twice that's happened.

This is pretty grim viewing so far

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,805 ✭✭✭Swan Curry

that last try was definitely nucifora's fault

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,018 ✭✭✭Bridge93

Hold onto the ****ing ball for more than 3 phases

  • Subscribers Posts: 42,169 ✭✭✭✭sydthebeat

Ulsters attacking shape is all over the place.
Players too flat because they know they have to get to the breakdown quicker

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,874 ✭✭✭✭bilston

    Stupid errors.

When we get the ball, keep it or kick well. But there are just stupid mistakes and when Clermont get it they are clinical and we can't handle them.

I still fancy we can score points here if we can just look after the ball better. We might just concede 70 points while we're at it.

Ireland's defense under Kiss had the same issues.

Oh and the lack of destructive ball carriers is clear for all to see here.

Ulster's pack have been embarasssing tho... men against boys.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 37,978 ✭✭✭✭irishbucsfan

Ulster might have given Northampton a decent game

Ulster pack being shown up badly here.
No scrum and pretty hopeless at the breakdown.

Really need 4 or 5 forwards brought in.

Does Rougerie play much for these guys anymore or is he there as a senior squad player? I see he's 23 today, but how much does he turn out for them.

He's there because his family own a nice pub in the town and the players get free booze out of him

(I think he actually is playing a fair bit in the league, but definitely winding down)

Ulster players very hesitant carrying the ball. Very little conviction in what they're doing in general.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,816 ✭✭✭corny

Lapandry is taking the piss at every scrum.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,874 ✭✭✭✭bilston

    Should have taken 3.

They're keeping him sweet because they know damn well he'll be mayor some day.

We'll be better next year when we have an Irish 9 sure.

What does your 9 have to do with anything? Your pack are being man shamed.

Pack is crap, no surprise there. How do we fix that? Our hands are tied.

In the meantime we get rid of the players we have that actually are good at playing rugby. Outstanding.

spending a million a year on two marquee forwards inoted of two marquee backs and signing a backroom forward from Leinster might help.

12th July 2017 will be interesting, might see a few bonfires with a nucifora on the top

    Scratched record springs to mind.

Let it go awec. Or get counselling. No point crying over spilt milk.

Sure we can't sign Leinster backrows. You can't make guys move. Or something like that, can't remember exactly.
