    Ah Jesus, no.

This happens a lot. I worked in one place where the serving staff would eat everything left on the plates and one manager was like a vulture, I couldn't leave one bit of food on the table in case he'd pinch it. Bit hard when you're trying to prepare dishes to go out.

Went out for dinner and had a veg Lasagna. Really disappointed. It had roasted peppers, sweet potato and carrot among other things in a cheesy sauce rather than tomatoey so it was too sweet and sickeningly cheesy.

Cheese with sweet things in it and thrown under the grill. Bleugh.

    Lasagne with... sweet potato? Bleugh!!

Grated courgette and ricotta makes a nice veg lasagne. Layered with tomato sauce and green lasagne sheets. Super tasty and simple.

Nice strong creamy Irish coffee made with Paddy's and a Cadbury's peanut caramel crisp from the freezer.

And I might go at it awful and very hard and have the same again.

    G&T, elderflower tonic tonight.

Gin used to be my favourite tipple, but I went off it for some reason, a friend has recommended elderflower tonic, is it nice? :)

It adds a nice twist. Fever Tree do a range of tonics, including elderflower and cucumber. The cucumber is delicious - if you like cucumber. Dunnes have them.

I love cucumber, I'll give it a try, I used to love a gin and tonic, I don't know what turned me off it, and I have two bottles of unopened gin!

    Thanks Stefan Easy Skull. :)

Back working after taking Mrs G for a few swift ones! It only takes three for her these days!:D Finishing off some crap for an over zealous plonker with no life but ambitions. The Dickhead should be in bed. Suppin a beer or two as I slave to this idiot. I don't mind anymore. I'm at home doing the work. The Cloud is a bitch.:D

    Ah Jesus, no.

It's the only thing we do that with, everything else goes in the bin. The spuds are in seperate serving dishes so they're not on people's plates.

We're not quite that bad, we wouldn't actually eat off the plates that the customers did

Oh no. I'm just saying they used to, it was pretty gross in all fairness. I wouldn't mind but we cooked for them every day so there was no need for them to be scavenging food like that.

I've had experience of that too. It shouldn't be allowed and sure the main thing about working in hospitality is the free food!

I know! Who thought "I'll take the sweetest vegetables I can find, roast them to make them sweeter, mix them with a tonne of cheese and call it Lasagna."

Now my husbands dinner was apparently lovely and the boy ate all of his. Plus I've eaten there before and enjoyed it. So I reckon just a misjudged dish from someone who didn't actually try it before putting it on the menu.

Your courgette and ricotta recipe. I do similar with wilted spinach, nutmeg and white pepper. But I roll it up into fresh pasta sheets and bake in tomato sauce, rather than layer it. Delicious!

Edit: just finished toast and jam and a cuppa.
