My father would always say that , swans heading like that was a sure sign of bad weather on the way.

This lad is no drama queen, was hoping it'd be downgraded a bit but not happening.

172kmph forecast gusts for here in the morning. I'm not confident that all of my shed roofs will be tomorrow where I left them today. Just praying they don't do damage to anyone or anything.

Esb gone here in West cork.

Predictated top gust for here upgraded to 187kmph at 5am…… No way we're getting away without damage.

Gusts up to 160km promised here on the mullet peninsula, rough or tough.

The old people years ago you'd wonder how they ever farmed without a proper forecast, although I do think the climate was more favourable then.

    Getting rough now

Here in west cork power gone. Storm at full belt and first calve of 2023 just born. If I knew it was going to be like this 9 months ago I wouldn't have started breedingfor another day at least.

I'll be checking long range forecast before I start breeding this year.

you did well with the power. Ours is gone a few hours. 180m above sea level here.

Do you precool the milk, would it take long for the tank to fully cool cook after a milking ??

In new parlour milk would be cooled very quickly. Have plate cooler. No generator for new parlour yet

Never seen so much debris on the roads and we didn't get the brunt of it yet.

Got away relatively unscathed here. Thank god. One tree down but it was half down anyway. Rough night, didn't sleep much. Had visions of the roof coming off the cattle shed. Convinced I could hear galvanise sheeting banging.

Rough night, didn’t sleep much, few trees down blocking the road. No power since 1:00 am so I’ll go clearing trees to keep warm once it dies down a bit

Dog spends every night in the hall here, have a child gate at the bottom of the stairs. He woke me around 2:30 whinging and he sure wasn't looking to go out. Had to bring his bed upstairs outside my bedroom before he'd settle

strange night out there nice stiff breeze but very cold with car frozen windscreen froze in a strange pattern too. But wind would cut you in two . Wind chill of -7. I’d say cattle will put a big home in their silage tonight , same with ewes in field. They have precision chopped silage with them

I’m afraid we might need boats to travel the land after this Sundays expected storm and rainfall levels.
Very heavy rain the last few days and nights here in Leitrim.

Was out with quad today looking at stock and it was sliding around on some fields that wouldn’t be too bad usually!😢
