So the V20 will not be getting PIE. Well it already has actually but only for the Korean version. That's about 9 months ago now so I don't see any chance LG will upgrade all the other models after all this time.

The really annoying thing is is that it's quite a bit better than Oreo in terms of performance. I know because I flashed the Korean Pie version on my spare v20 to try it out. Mobile data will not work on it though because it's locked to south korean carriers. There is no way to get around this.

So, you could upgrade your V20 to PIE but you won't be able to use it for mobile data, only a wifi device.

Not surprising. Did you read that somewhere? I was occasionally looking on Reddit for news, but there was nothing other than the Korean info. Got 3+ years out of this one so that's good enough.

Pixel 4a is next for me.

Not really read it somewhere, more accumulated knowledge. XDA is the place for all the best info on it.

A few of us on there have been trying to hack it to get data to work but no one has managed to do it yet. Even if we manage to hack it it wouldn't be a straightforward update process for the average user.

LG are up to the V60 now, as well as the G series, and are well knows for being poor on updates unlike Samsung, so all in all we're fairly certain there will be no more updates, possibly a security update but that's it.
