At least they debuted when they got the call up. Sanity seems to have gone missing after their vignette videos.

I'd love if they were just waiting for Nikki Cross to get called up too.

Raw needs some rivalries. Storylines around their matches that matter outside of, picking up momentum building to the next already set PPV match. What is there to make me want to watch next week. See the guys you saw face off tonight but in a different combination again next week (but wait another week for the match and added weapons etc). Not advocating shock TV, or constant cliffhangers but its all just meh in their builds between PPVs until you know they really care about something.

It will end in farce then cue rematch at MITB with a stip.

    Or in otherwords......who cares.

I think it's going to get so violent that some members of the roster may be needed to hold them back from each other

So Corbin has shaved off his hair

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,545 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

Corbin looks a hundred times better now, that’s exactly what he needed.

Another break. That's 3 already in this match. FFS.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,790 ✭✭✭Bret Hart

That was a pretty good match.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,790 ✭✭✭Bret Hart

There's no chance that Braun is winning the MITB ladder match after this. They wouldn't booked him this strong if he were.

Raw did make a lot more sense this week though, and had some impressive wrasslin.

    A good go-home show.

Braun and Finn have great chemistry together

    the wrestling is great.

but the writing is the biggest pile of steaming, nonsensical, contrived, useless, insulting bullshít.

the writers just need to fúck off back to their failed soap opera writing lives, or whatever profession they failed at before. if i wanted to watch shít soap operas, I've enough options without them attempting to do an even worse version of it in my pro wrestling.

they destroy it for me on a weekly basis.

    "Get these hands!"

    "Get these hands!"

    "Get these hands!"

Good job turning him into a boring catchphrase.

Well that’s mainly because SlickRic focuses on the bad rather than the good (and that’s not a dig at you Ric btw, there’s a lot of bad and you’ve every right to point it out). There are positive aspects to the show as well, and in recent weeks the great wrestling is shining through much more than the poor scripts, in my opinion. Two excellent fatal 4 ways last night that I’ll personally remember a lot more than the shîte obstacle course segment and the awful face off between Ronda and Nia. If Rollins had a match last night it would’ve been a brilliant Raw, unfortunately he too was stuck in a poor segment.

What I’m saying is, there are still reasons to watch, as bad as a lot of the show can be.

In Typical WWE style they got the knee wrong. The usual sloppiness

So how will they end the Ronda/Nia match? To soon for a Ronda reign

The knee may be a clue of shenanigans ahead

Ronda only has two facial expressions, God love her.

    The one above and smiling.

Yeah. I find it weird that WWE are often accused of not being able to do "subtle", and when they try, people start attacking them by calling it out as "slopiness".

I'd nearly put money on Nattie winning the MITB, Ronda beating Nia and then Nattie cashing in on Ronda. The "My friend Ronda" is very much setting up a heel turn.

This is more of a general observation that a Raw only one but I feel this is the place to post it. Match quality on the main roster has gone down the drain in the last 18 months. This isn't a comparison to NJPW which is in a league of its own right now, but rather what WWE was doing a year ago compared to now. AJ, Sami, Joe etc all look like shadows of themselves in the ring. It's like they've given up. I've no doubt this is management's problem rather than the wrestlers, but whoever is to blame needs to sort it out sharpish as without the match quality there's nothing left to keep interest.

I really dont agree with that its been very solid this year. Rollins & finn alone have had some brilliant matches on raw together.

Styles can still go in the right environment. Zayn has been booked to the point where I'd say he dreads turning up to TV most weeks. I think Owens & a few others must feel the same way.
Joe imo is probably 10 years past his prime, better on the mic but his best years still are his roh title run & early Tna. Some still see him as that Joe but I haven't for some time.
In terms of big matches it's not even a comparison in terms of consistency. New Japan works less dates but the majority of WWE feels like lazy filler, bar the odd performer who takes pride in their work. Though comparing something like Okada & Lesnar's title reign is scary; the latter has been laughably bad as a record holder. :pac:
The booking is the biggest issue as they still have talent on their roster. Rollins, Bryan, Styles, Balor, Almas, Miz, Cesaro, Rusev (albeit many of their best workers are well into their 30's). But look at the last few weeks they don't care creatively.
Why is Ronda tapping out Nia when the match was seeing if Ronda can get her in that armbar?
Why are the Riott Squad acting like rebellious children?
    Lashley vs Zayn, just why?
Why are so many still called up from NXT without a plan in place like HHH said there would be?
How do you fu*k up Styles vs Nakamura this bad?
How is the Raw tag division so poor & Smackdown's one dead since the Bludgeon Brothers won the tag titles?
How did Daniel Bryan become less relevant in record time?
Why is Baron Corbin a constable & what is a constable in WWE?
Just a case study on idiocy:
What moron thought it was a good idea to end Asuka's streak to Charlotte?
Who they then use to (fail) to put over Carmella who is so bad in ring (this long after debuting I might add) that she makes Alexa Bliss look like the second coming of Shawn Michaels. Some defended WWE saying they had a plan after Mania for Charlotte and Asuka but they never plan far ahead, the result meant something for about 8 seconds until Cena ran past them to set up a stinker of a match with Taker. It showed the result immediately didn't matter.
They can have Strowman punch a cow into the sky or sell to the audience that Jonathan Coachman as an expert it doesn't matter cause they got their TV deals now so are healthy for 5 years.

    i agree with this.

hence, i said "the wrestling is great" in my original post.

the problem with the whole presentation of the show is that the writing is pure and utter cack. like, it's putrid. it's insulting.

i mean, that opening segment. the verbiage. the ladders at different heights. faces and heels just sitting there with each other without doing a damn thing.

it's all as phony as fúck. there is a minority of stuff that comes across as authentic. and the fact so much of the show is phony, it contaminates any parts of the show that are decent.

It's over-produced to an absurd degree.

That opening segment on the ladders just felt so contrived

Some of the talent cant work with a script, the likes of Angle and Balor come off like theyre making the wheels turn in their head while trying to talk

It's one thing watching on TV and seeing that opening shot.

If you're in the arena, you're seeing eight wrestlers enter and climb ladders and just stand there for what I'm guessing was about 5 minutes before the show starts. Wrestling is a form of theatre but that was just like a director pulling back the curtain and shouting "Places, people!" while the audience watches. No wonder they didn't react to anything in it.

Have a feeling either Rollins or Reigns wins the title off Lesner at Summerslam and a returning Dean Ambrose comes out to congratulate him but turns and starts his heel turn

The excellent booking of Ronda Rousey continues. She’s on her way to being the most over wrestler of either gender at this point, she’s a star.

Ronda being booked like a star. Shes strength to strength too.
