Was only a matter of time really, shame they've no back bone and can't stick to their remit.
Too busy chasing the big jnlr's which will never come with a niche station.
I know boards is often accused of being an echo chamber, but between all the negative posts here and on their fb page we can't all be wrong.
People will leave in their droves if they don't pull up their socks and start being different than the rest because thats what the majority liked about Nova.

You're right, it was Sheryl Crow, not Cheryl Cole, thanks fcuk for that. I thought they'd gone completely to the dark side.

Edit...... Have no idea what below has to do with above
Thankfully I don't have to listen to Nova ads anymore.....apart during JC and TA. Rest of the time it's the classic stream or Planet Rock. Mind you, PR ads are just what you have on Sky TV. But at least there's no talking dogs or mattresses salesmen lol.

As one poster on their Facebook page pointed out, many former Nova listeners would now rather listen to Pam Duggan on Dublin City FM read out Dublin's traffic reports than listen to the Colm & Lucy Breakfast Show. Duggan does play some decent tunes inbetween her traffic bulletins, in fairness.

Yeah, Sheryl Crow has been a 'Nova Artist' (whatever that even means anymore) for quite some time. Mind you, it wouldn't surprise me if Cheryl Cole did pop up on the station at this stage.

Yeah, I listen in going in and out of work.
I've said before that I would rather listen to them talking about a busy Coolock Road and a slow moving Whitehall Road than listen to Colostomy and DimDim .
They've played nearly every song that I've requested, the last one being Flight of Icarus this morning.
Always good to listen to something and not want to kill someone...

I completely agree, Ste. That false and childish 'banter' so prevalent on most Irish breakfast shows (and now, sadly, on Nova) starts to grate on one's ears very quickly. It's the last thing I want to be hearing first thing in the morning. At least the traffic reports on Dublin City FM are easy to listen to and serve a purpose. I think Liam Quigley has the formula for a good breakfast show down to a fine art. A certain amount of chat relevant to the show, some news and traffic reports and, of course, some good tunes. I daresay that's what most of Nova's longtime listeners want to hear, as opposed to their incumbent breakfast crew.

I thought I put that comment on here. Either I'm mistaken, or someone stole my post and put it on FB.

Bear in mind most people would rather listen to the dentist drill than those two idiots.

Liam Quigley is on breakfast for "the next few weeks." I wonder what few means. More than two weeks?

Could the listeners' wishes be granted and the two have been silently dropped? Hardly!

I hardly think they consider a few negative comments as a guide to their performance....more likely makes Hayes want to dig his hoofs in even more....in fact, Former Former mentioned only last week the overplaying of The Lumineers on TXFM...guess what nova played yesterday....have'nt heard it played in a lonnnnng time..

Heard a promo yesterday evening and it looks like that those ‘two’ are back on August 20th!

Are they trying to boost ratings by putting Quigley on in the mornings, then using that to say ah but the shows ratings are up, so there?

As much as I'd like to see the end of the Colm & Lucy Breakfast Show, I would be very surprised if Nova even considered addressing the backlash that the show has generated amongst its listeners. Unfortunately, they will be back.
