I really think daytime getting worse....it getting more mainstream, moving away from "rock"...I'm finding GG's show a bit tired too thesedays....

Peter Devlin in for GG...He commented at the start of the show about Morty not playing New Order's Blue monday for all the Dub fans and Morty didnt know what he was on about...embarrassing for Morty but not surprising...Mortyfied for ya....:D

I heard them mention on the morning show on Friday that the girl was on again tomorrow (Saturday) night but that they were also back in on Saturday morning for the 'Best of' show... long day for her etc..

As if anyone believes the segments between clips for the best of show are not pre recorded on Friday.

Ruth Scott? She was on again this morning. Marty is off on vacation after today, I predict Conor Irwin will fill in for him. I think it will eventually become "Morning Glory with Ruth & Marty" unless for some reason they can't afford to have Ruth as a full time weekday presenter.

Lisa Gernon just said she'd be playing Aretha Franklin.

    Respect playing now.

Not the first time. Don't think there's anything wrong - it's a great song.

    I know - I was being grumpy :)

They really have moved away from exclusively rock. Still, I'd rather listen to Aretha Franklin than some of the pop crap they play during the day.

I blame JC...his show is getting more soul/disco lately....

Playing Save Tonight by Eagle Eyed Cherry at the moment. Sorry guys, that's not rock! But I guess it does fit the "guitar-based" description.

The expectations here are totally unreasonable. If you're hunched over your radio 24-7 waiting for a non-rock song to come on, eventually you'll get it.

Right now, they're playing Bob Marley. It's not rock, but you know what, I'm enjoying it. Isn't that the whole point of music radio? Does it matter if they don't slavishly stick to a single genre?

If you're getting outraged because one of the greatest artists of the 20th century is getting an airing, then you're no fan of music.

yeah I agree, however I just am sick of the adverts and chat all the time. What happened to the 30% more music motto?

As for that Dog Poo advert - It drives me nuts.

    Much sooner than later.......

Which BM song did they play..???...i'm a big reggae fan but BM wouldnt be my no.1 ...I asked a question of one of their dj's at a "party" once.."why no reggae (except Eric Clapton  " ...he seemed as mystified as i was..maybe he asked the question.....now he's not there....

I love that poo advert...reminds me of Ummpa Lummpa's.....:D

I don't understand this to be honest. If you just want songs, and only songs, especially only songs you like to listen to wouldn't it be way easier to put all your music onto a device and put it on random play.

No ads, no chat, just music you like.

Nova is poison and has been for a while. I’m done. I just heard ‘What do you want from me’ by Monaco! F*ck off Nova.

Pat Courtney is an utter imbecile too - he’s an uniformed opinion on everything.

Thems the breaks. No station is going to be perfect.

In fact it will aim for the Lowest Common Denominator. You're just going to beat yourself up thinking it can be any other way.

BAI wouldn't allow a no chat station anyway.

True, and it would be soulless in my opinion. Although, they should do away with the news requirement. It's nannyism. If I want the news (and I frequently do) I'll seek it out.

Definitely. There's been times, especially during the last decade, where I haven't wanted to listen to news so it would be nice if it wasn't mandatory.

Have to say, the guy standing in for Greg Gaughran the last few days has been excellent. Real no nonsense approach, just plays the tunes, but can tell he's very knowledgeable about the music. Nice to hear a Cornershop song that's not Brimful of Asha for once. Should get him in permanently in place of the insufferable Pat Courtenay.

Also, if anyone from the station reads this.. Please, please please stop playing that Stereophonics song!
