Isn't that good or what's it mean ?

Seen some interviews last week from SLJ, got very excited as looks like there is a good Nick Fury origin story.

I would take it to mean it's a grand bit of light entertainment to pass an afternoon like pretty much every marvel film to date.

Reviews look solid and another solid entry into the MCU, overall it’s say this will be very solid.

I have been ignoring all the negativity on the net for this as I want to judge a film on its own merits rather than what its lead says or does in real life but from many reviews I heard it does not look great, I will see it Friday and will keep expectations low.

I look forward to hearing what people think, would love to see it but I will gave to wait for the Blu-ray as have a new born and might get murdered if I disappear for a film.

I really want to know more about Captain marvel origins but also Nick Fury origins.

Just back from seeing it in 3D IMAX in Cineworld. I thought it was great!

The intro story was done well. Her current story and backstory were done well. THEN! BOOM! She
gets her powers and that was a real
    HUH-YAH
    moment
!!! Good fights, good action, cool powers, cool songs!

The Kree and the Skrulls were explained well.
I didn't see the switcheroo coming for a minute. I knew the kree were baddies, I just assumed the skrulls were just different baddies. It didn't hurt the script to have Ben Mendelsohn there to reinforce that!

Felt like so much backstory, story and questions from other films and overall plot filled in like
the Tesseract, Ronan the Accuser, Korath the Pursuer, the Avengers initiative, Fury's eye

Good tribute to Stan Lee! Much nods. Many feels. Good cameo.

Mid-Credits very worthwhile. End-credits.. depends on
how much you want to fill in for Thor and Avengers 1

3D and IMAX were decent during the film but especially good for the Avengers End Game trailer before the film!

Without clicking on any spoilers, are the two credit scenes worth staying for?

I hate making my wife stay until the end and it's a big turd of a scene.

She shouldn't have married you if she didn't want to stay for the end credit scenes.

Very apt that it's coming today, as it's International Women's Day

The mid credits doesn't take too long of a wait and makes a contribution to the present/future.

The end credits is probably more for previous films and can be lived without. It's pretty funny.

Was average but certainly was not bad but there were moments I felt Larson's acting was really lacking.

Why do I get the feeling that Incels are review bombing this movie on Rotten Tomatoes.

It's a double edged sword you will have incels review bombing but also woke SJW types who will lavish praise on it because it's part of the feminist movement .

Believe it out not the Americans have articles about only white male film reviewers giving negative reviews to the film .

It's Americanized politics of the day both sides are at it.

The best thing to do is form your own opinion when you see it.

It's very hard these days to get a good opinion from some of the review websites because of all this stuff.

You kind of have to find someone who you know is honest and neutral or watch it yourself.

Saying that some guys I follow in the gaming / review community on YouTube have give it very decent reviews 8/10.

Lol 33%. Have to love the tangle the US get themselves in over such things. Looking forward to watching it in peace tomorrow morning.

My one thought reading the last few posts & page, and for someone who doesn't give one damn about identity politics, I have to ask, what the hell is an incel?

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,010 ✭✭✭✭Foxtrol

Saw it last night and enjoyed it for an origin story. Think I’ve gotten to the stage where I don’t have Superhero fatigue but maybe Superhero origin story fatigue. They did do a good job formulating it in a different way than I think we’ve seen.

Thought Larson was fine but felt most of the attempts for her to have the standard ‘Marvel one liner’ fell flat. Probably not the worst thing, as in the ensemble movies she could play more of a straight character. The de-aging was fantastic, after my brain took a few minutes to get used to the younger versions I didn’t really notice it. The movie was littered with so many Easter Eggs that it’ll probably take a second viewing to process them all. Goose really steals the show though.

The mid credit scene definitely has me hyped for what’s to come and the origin could play a special part.

Not sure myself. Neckbeard I think? That's another popular word on boards.

It's the new latest "thing", and it's bad craic....

They basically hate women cause they really want to have sex with them

Someone who is angry that women they find attractive don't want to have sex with them, and this is proof that SJW feminist socialist nazis are taking over the world and must be defeated by Jordan Peterson and an army of youtube-watching supplement-buying ****.

    (involuntary celibate)

I really enjoyed it nothing ground breaking but Marvel aren't looking for ground breaking and Brie is very very pretty.

A good origin story for Captain Marvel and the whole MCU in general.

Some great nods to the past films and I also though a great nod to Agents of Shield.

Fury's de-aging didn't distract at all for me, Coulson's looked like he a little bit to much Botox.

If Black Panther can be Oscar nominated well then so can this.

By the way neither are good enough to be nominated for a Oscar.
