That's great news, frees up cash for me to spread in midfield.

    Lamela/Vardy or Hazard/Gray?

With the doubts over Siggy, and Souare looking to be ok, I think I'm done. I reworked it so I could have 8m for Siggys spot thinking Firmino was 8.0 only to then realise he was 8.5. That's how I ended up with Ramsey, also a bit of insurance in case the Liverpool Arsenal game is highscoring, which I fear it might be.

I am definitely doing the BigBig Front 3, and glad to have the balance of 2 decent price slots in midfield so I can get Siggy for GW2, or possibly get in Kane if he looks good.

With the Northwest Derby and associated pints tonight I'll be leaving this locked in shortly, with perhaps a quick check in the morning for injury news.

    Foster (Jakupovic)
    Friend, Stones, Souaré (Amat, Smith)
    Hazard, Redmond, Ramsey, Townsend (Capoue)
    Vardy, Aguero (c), Ibra

Remember in the "Resolutions" thread where I said my fetish for premium forwards would be something I'd be working on this season - well scratch that, I'm off the wagon!! :D
Ben Dinnery says Fernandez fit and Kingsley 4.0 to play Left back, and says Amat could play Centre half, also Fabio signed for Boro might affect Friend?

Having a similar conundrum around the same players.

Just be assured, no matter what decision you think, you will feel it is the wrong one :)

Leicester play Hull but some tricky games mixed in there. Hazard is too hard to predict. Think I am going to gamble on him

    Terry/Heaton/Lamela

    or

    Souare/Jako/Firmino?

Lads, have I lost the plot?

I was going to leave Firmino in and have 2.5m in the bank for changes, but presently I've brought Sanchez in...

    Foster/Jakupovic
    Shaw/Souare/Friend/Terry/Amat
    Hazard/Sanchez/Townsend/Redmond/Capoue
    Vardy/Aguero/Gray

The team looks solid on paper but the issue is that with no money at all, I can't bring in Sigurdsson for GW2 and won't have coverage for United for Hull away in GW3. Should I stop being silly and downgrade Sanchez? I have the feeling that the answer is yes but maybe someone out there will be thoughts as crazy as me....

who do you have already? Shaw/Valencia/Stones prob the best similar priced players

Anybody care to share their thoughts/opinion on:

    Foster Heaton

    Stones Shaw Baines, Friend Amat

    Firmino Tadic Fabregas Townsend Lamela

    Gray Vardy Kun

Slightly worried that I've no premium mids. Though I think it's OK for the first 3 gws, until teams settle.

I like Terry to be honest. I think they could easily keep 2/3 clean sheets in their opening 3 games.

i'm not sure Arsenal are a good idea 'til GW3 - two tough opening fixtures, and alot of their key players had little or no pre-season (i don't think Ozil - their most creative player - kicked a ball). most sensible play is to wait and see. there's also question marks how they will line-up when all their players are available. Cazorla put in a couple of decent performances pre-season so he might be getting a look-in now - that could affect Ramsey's position. When Giroud returns that may affect the shape. Etc. etc.

I can see the temptation with Sanchez GW1 against a Liverpool side that can be well dodgy in defense, but he's not near 100% match fit so would be a pretty big gamble starting out i.m.o.

just gone lamela out fabregas in. Have a hunch he's gonna get points over the first few games.

Maybe someone like Evans if you wanted to get 1mill in the bank? Terry should be a good buy for first few weeks though

I'd worry about gw 3 when we get to gw 3 . I'd go with what you think will get you the most points for the first 2 weeks. Things will be a lot clearer then so you could either wildcard or a points hit if you think certain players/teams are essential.

Right. Not quite settled on the Ramsey thing.

    So.

    A: Stones & Ramsey
    B: Valencia & Lamela

Particularly for GW1. Siggy probably comes in for GW2 in either case.

So guys I'm trying not to go all templatey- will be WC after the international break so I'm hoping for some price rises especially with Stones, Fischer, Morgan. Oh, will be playing 343 for 95% of the season.

Goalkeeper - thinking Hennessey might get 2 CS out of his first 3 matches. But also tempted with Foster and Forster. Will be switching to Cech for GW4 and he will play the rest of the season. Want a 4m goalie who will go up in price or at least not go down - thats why I settled on Pope (small ownership). Reckon that Hull goalie might drop in value.

    Defence:

Morgan - reckon Leicester might pick up 2 clean sheets or maybe even 3 in their first 3 matches. Was also tempted of throwing Schemichael in goal but thought one Leicester player defensively is enough.

Van Djik - reckon could get 2 clean sheets out of the first 3 matches.

Stones - not a great fan of him or City defence when kompany is not playing but reckon he might get a CS against Sunderland and if that happens a price rise.

Shaw - will play in GW2 and will probably stay in the team for the rest of the year - was also considering Valencia but he is injury prone.

Amat - a 4m player who will mostly be on the bench.

    Midfield:

Jedinak - Palace have 2 decent fixtures in the first 3. I know a lot have gone for Townsend but I think Jedinak is solid enough to free up cash elsewhere.

Williams - the 7.5m Chelsea midfielder who I think will play.

Fischer - a risk but might do alright in the first three GWs - could be a surprise package. Also thought about Ramirez.

Redmond - I like Southamptons fixtures in GW1 and GW3.

Lamela - will come in in GW2.

    Forwards:

Aguero - overall I think City will struggle in their first 3 games, but Aguero could get a goal or two. Will reassess him (and Ibra) after the 3 matches.

Vardy - could destroy hull and Leicester looked pretty good against Utd last week.

Ibra - an expensive gamble but rather have him in now than not being able to afford him later.

IMO Arsenal, Liverpool and City have difficult matches for the first three game weeks. But after that I will be looking to bring in Silva (lets see how he gets on with Ageuro and his gametime), Cazorla or Sanchez when Arsenals matches get a bit easier.

Anyway that's my madness, but how mad is the question??????????????

    Agreed, UTD defender or goalie.

Thanks for the advice bust. I am officially finished now!

    My settled team is:

    Foster/Jakupovic
    Friend/Shaw/Terry/Amat/Smith
    Oscar/Sanchez/Townsend/Redmond/Capoue
    Gray/Aguero/Vardy

3m in the bank, with the aim (barring injuries) to go Townsend -> Siggy in GW2 and then Siggy -> United cover in GW3, or Vardy -> Ibra.

I'm basically following Hull around for the opening three gameweeks :pac:

Best of luck to all. Will still pop in and out to give thoughts on others teams! Best of luck lads!

EDIT: Reasoning for Sanchez is that I think he'll start, and he'll either be up top or off the wing, and with Walcott up top stretching the play I think he'll thrive regardless. Hoping for an early goal in the game though, as it could peter out to a 0-0 draw.

Defence pretty much set in stone, but weighing up 3 different attack set ups atm

    A.
    Haz- Firmino - Redmond- Gradel
    Ibra- Vardy - Kun

    B.
    Haz - Townsend - Mahrez - Redmond
    Ibra- Gray- Kun

    C.
    Haz- Townsend- Redmond- Lamela
    Ibra- Vardy- Kun

I like A but don't really trust gradel or any other player in his price range. B is possibly more balanced but I do want Firmino in my team as well as Leicester cover. C gives me 3 heavy hitters up top with Spurs coverage, but I'm still pretty sceptical about lamela tbh. Can anyone help me with this predicament?

The problem with having both Townsend and Redmond is they have a poor gw2 fixture
I'm also looking at something like B Or C

Which Smith is this - there are two - is it Adam? If it is the other Smith, I dont think he will play.
Not sure if Oscar or Sanchez will start.
Gray has difficult matches in GW2 and 3 - perhaps an established player like Long

    Fantasy%202_zpslyyeveno.png

    Goalkeepers:
Weakest link in the team, I think. Need to have cheap options to accommodate my outfield players. Foster offers a cheap way into the West Brom defence, hopefully Pulis has worked his magic over the Summer. Jakupovic should start the first few games for Hull, hoping he will pick up a few points from saves.

    Defenders:
Think Shaw is gonna have a huge season. Guaranteed starter. With Schneiderlin/Carrick ahead of the defense this season and Mourinho as the manager, one would expect a lot more clean sheets for Man United. Can also offer some attacking returns as he can be a huge attacking threat. Chose Stones because he should be the first choice CB at the moment, especially since he was signed for close to £50million. Man City should be a lot more solid with Guardiola as their new manager. His defensive record for his teams throughout his career is simply incredible. Final defender is Friend, simply because Middlesbrough are very well drilled defensively. Karanka, the manager, loves nothing more than a 1-0 victory!

    Midfielders:
Toss up between Mahrez and Hazard. Picked Mahrez. Player of the year last year, on set pieces and Leicester's fixtures are generous for the first few weeks. I do have 0.5 in the bank to get Hazard in. Lamela has been playing very well in pre-season and could be taking a lot of set pieces, not to mention he has rediscovered his form, from his Roma days, since Pochettino has taken over. I expect a big season from him. Firmino is a guaranteed starter in my eyes. I think playing under Klopp's style of football will improve his game massively. Klopp said he was the best player for Liverpool in pre-season and will either start as a false 9 or as No.10 behind Origi. Also, Chambers and Holding will be the CB's for Arsenal this weekend so that is another plus! Final player is Tadic. Picked him from all the talk about him on these forums. His record speaks for itself when he gets consistent game time.

    Forwards:
Aguero has to be in any team I think. Sole striker for Man City, capable of scoring 25+ goals this season. Spurs have some nice games over the first few weeks so I went with Kane. He isn't a one season wonder, as proven last season. His movement is exceptional, clinical in the box and is Spurs only hope of finishing in the Top 4 again this season. Takes penalties too. Burnley played some attractive football last season and Gray is a decent option, but I am worried about him. Can't think of a better option for his price. Championship player of the year last year, is lightning quick and has a poachers instinct.

    Bench:
Evans should start and another option into the West Brom defense. Capoue should start. Amat is the cheap option, fingers crossed he will start.

    What I like:
    • 0.5 in the bank, so I can get Hazard or Ibra in.
    • Three different options for captaincy in Mahrez, Aguero and Kane.
    • All three forwards are penalty takers for their clubs, a huge plus for any striker and the
majority of my midfielders take the set-pieces for their clubs.

    My Concerns:
    • No Chelsea coverage.
    • No Arsenal coverage.
    • No Man United coverage in attack.

Appreciate any opinions or criticism! Thanks.

Took Ibra out for Vardy... hull makes it too tempting and he's captain too. Mahrez in there too.
Have €3.5 in the bank so I'll prob go wildcard in GW 3 i think
